Re: Lament 2: Cry Harder
good luck with the temp work, los. red and i both got some fairly useful work experience from temping. i was able to parlay my boring-as-shit bank temp job into the boring-as-shit (but much better paying) job i'm working now. :v of course you get some dreadful shit too. red had a real clusterfuck of...

I've heard that no one was hurt in that explosion, at least. My relatives live several blocks from there; they've lost power, obviously, but they're doing okay.

Re: SandyWatch 2012
somehow we still have power in wilmington. i guess nyc and connecticut are getting it worse right now, since they're farther east. here, the winds are borderline tropical storm force and the rain is steady, but our little river hasn't flooded yet. it'll rake over us tonight. i've never seen the eye ...

Jake actually has recommended that I get my degree first and enlist in the reserves or the National Guard as an officer. I've considered it, but it just seems like it'd take me so long to get my degree that I literally don't know where i'd be in my life and if i'd still want to do it. One of my big...

@Ando: Sometimes Tex-Mex can be very good. Red's sister has a cookbook called The Homesick Texan, and I drool over the recipes every time I see them. (The author has a blog here ) I guess we are spoiled for Mexican food in the US. Even my cheapo supermarket has 5+ types of chili peppers and a decent...

Speaking of chili peppers, what's the best way to dry out and preserve fresh habaneros? I have a bunch of them that I'm not gonna use soon. I don't want them to go bad.

do these tropers with internet quality > 140 (thanks KING ADAM) ever grow up or get laid or form meaningful relationships
or are they like that forever
my mind is sort of blown by the thought of them getting old and still being like that, but they sure don't seem like they'll ever change

Yup, that's basically what happened. It's funny that we both had the exact same stupid assumptions. There's gonna be a sandbar out there, where those surfers are. The swimming will be fun. It'll be like Duck. Those waves hitting us from a 45-degree angle will just make it more exciting. Even after I...

No, don't apologize, this is good! This is what I wanted. I went to the brewing store's website and they were prominently selling some fancy ass setup for like $2k and I sort of freaked out, that's why I asked. $200 is an okay entry price. I don't have a big pot, though. Can I just get a cheapo 16-q...

Re: Spartan's I Can Make This Thread
Hey Spartan, how much does it cost to get a decent beer brewing setup? And how much does it cost to make a good batch of beer? Is it usually cheaper to buy ingredients online or in person? (There's a brewing store sort of near me but I'm afraid it'll be pricey.) Red keeps suggesting I brew my own be...

AVC: What’s been the most amusing reaction to your prequel videos from a fan? MS: A guy wrote a 108-page response to the Phantom Menace review, citing how I was wrong about all of my opinions. He then went on to explain how the audience “should have known” all these mysterious facts and leaps of lo...
