Re: Testing Chat Episode VI: Return of the Chat

Netflix is pretty good, and no advertisement bullshit as of yet. I'm also worried about an escalating subscription fee and I'm already downloading music/apps. My new Blu Ray even has a Netflix button on its remote! The problem there is that sometimes series get pulled for whatever reason, probably ...

Re: Testing Chat Episode VI: Return of the Chat

I know DVDs are very 2004 next to the miracles of 2014 fibre optic broadband, however I find Netflix too good to be true (I stream the iPlayer and YouTube instead) and streaming video sites are beginning to get rather clogged up with advertising dross.

Re: FUCKING SHITTING FUCKING WHAT

No love lost with the British establishment and their love for self-destructive crony capitalism, but one understandable reason why there's this sudden push for increasingly extreme, arbitrary civil enforcement laws was the '11 riots where the homes and properties of ordinary people (not evil corpor...

Re: Testing Chat Episode VI: Return of the Chat

I purchased the first three seasons of Breaking Bad on DVD, after hearing and seeing so much hype around it in the last couple of years.

Re: Testing Chat Episode VI: Return of the Chat

I know that. It just seems like its been doing it more than usual. Maybe it's a bunch of snowed in members with nothing better to do. Kind of ironic that Spacebattles.com, mostly avoiding the arrogant stupidity and cognitive dissonance that led to the downfall of SD.Net (like Stas Bush wishing Year...

Re: Testing Chat Episode VI: Return of the Chat

Has anybody caught up with Moffat and Gatiss' Sherlock series? You know, the one distracting the aforementioned writers off another show and helped to overexpose Benedict Cumberbatch?

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

I gave The Hobbit: The Excessive Bloat Must Go On a miss (the first film was just adequate; visually nice, but Jackson should've done just two slightly shorter movies instead really) and was pleasantly surprised by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

My Windows 8 internet link is acting all weird, with app tiles needing the internet to function not functioning and HP server seems to be temporarily busted (yet the Internet Explorer and Chrome in the more functional desktop section is working fine).

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

OK, I've seen the first episode (or "session") of Cowboy Bebop on blu ray and its inspiration on Firefly is heavily apparent. The setting is also very much like the setting in Iain M. Banks' The Algebraist.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

Paul Walker Dies in Car Crash . If that's not irony I don't know what is. And this is going to make the seventh Fast and Furious movie somewhat awkward. Wonder if they finished filming his scenes yet? I'm actually pretty saddened about this, my attempts to make light of it notwithstanding. He seeme...

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

Arrogant xenophobia and brute military force only goes so far; one of the main reasons for the downfall of 18th/19th century India, the African slave trade, and expansion of many empires, etc, is short-sighted and self-serving rulers given rope to hang themselves with and sell out their own people.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

I dream of a day when every animal that does not serve humanity has been eradicated and every ecosystem has been destroyed. When the dead seas are boiled away to expose the barren deserts underneath. And then, once we have extinguished even the fires at the Earth's core our great work will begin as...

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

Elephants are much more like people and seem fully self-aware (much like apes, dogs, and dolphins), they mourn over their dead and feel grief like we do (and a cute elephant baby that nearly got stamped on by its mother and rejected by her, was seen literally crying for hours afterwards).

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

Well, I mean, it would be a shame to mass-murder a bunch of people and use their bones for art and then get rid of the art. Then all you have left is the mass murdering, and that seems kind of pointless. :psypop: :wtc: :picard: So you'd think it'd be a good idea to keep around a serial killer's tro...

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

I think it's the arrogance that's the fundamental problem. The thing about arrogance is it compounds other problems. Ignorance can be lessened, mistaken beliefs can be corrected, narrow perspectives can be expanded, but arrogance sets up barriers to that. When you think you're right and everybody e...

Weren't Japanese mad scientist who did similarly fucked up things in Manchuria on hapless human test subjects quietly recruited by the Americans and their test papers taken? And what about experimentation on intelligent, aware mammal animals? I don't like how this thread is digressing.

I don't care too much, since I pretty much never make comments on YT anyway.
