fortunately the pedo scare seems to have killed off trick or treating over here or at least, only got one group last year, we'll see how it goes this year People being so paranoiac about paedophiles in the UK can, in some extreme and tragic cases, lead to a misunderstood and innocent man getting ki...

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance

The St. Jude storm just made the 28th in UK's West Country a bit more wetter and a bit more windy, the buses got disrupted and some drains overflowed, but at least the power held and nobody died in my area. I feel for the harder hit people in the East of England, Denmark, Belgium, and Holland.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

OK, I think the more propagandist, toned down, and simplified Western mass media of the 1930s/1940s/1950s did a lot to warp and damage the perceptions of modern people's take on history and politics. Mass media is very powerful and Hollywood movies from the 1930s/1940s/1950s are the most accessible ...

GTA V's Impotent Rage cartoon character is a good representation of many of the posters on SD.Net's N&P section.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

Has anybody heard about or seen This Movie Has Not Yet Been Rated ? It goes over the stifling pre-mid 1960s censorship, but it's mainly about the current heavily corporate controlled MPAA (and also goes over the immense PR clout of the US Military, which explains the largely wanky, overly favourable...

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance

You know, I still have difficulties processing the fact that those newborns I saw people carry here and there in the streets in the late 1990's and early 2000's are the same teenagers I see nowadays hanging near the gates of the middle and high-schools here. I know what you mean. I teach children w...

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

I can vaguely remember reading through a Tom Clancy novel that was interesting and entertaining, but maybe I was a little young for it and lost interest in reading it - I think it involved a top secret Soviet laser weapon facility close to the Afghanistan border.

Novelists don't make old bones.

Well it seems like enough time has elapsed that we'll never know what ever happened to him now, there's no real closure (unlike poor Yosemite, where we know how he sadly passed away).

I wonder what ever happened to Ghost Rider and still bit shocked by his unexplained disappearance, even though he suffered from angry hubris like a lot of SD.Net mods.

Re: videojuegos

After the jewel shop heist and the opening story missions with TP, GTA V opens up dramatically (the first two characters have relatively little money and couldn't afford the equipment to properly explore San Andreas).

Oh my god:
In GTA V when I was introduced to the third and final playable character (an evil, frighteningly smart redneck, Trevor Phillips) he is killing a main protagonist from one of the GTA IV storylines.

Re: videojuegos

Jesus wept, GTA V took many minutes to load up the whopping memory space (and requires two discs to run). I've played it relatively briefly and so-far it looks/feels like a cross between Just Cause 2 and Red Dead Redemption.
