Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

A friend of mine told me he paid for SFDebris to review the entire Code Geass series. I appreciate the videos but spending $1,000 to get a series you like talked about? Jesus.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

My biggest problem with season 1 of SAO, aside from the bland uninteresting characters, was how unlike an MMO it was. Being a former WoW addict I thought the premise of being trapped in an MMO was pretty intriguing. Going in I looked forward to an examination of the people who play the games and cul...

I still think we should have done the drinking game thing every time something terrible happened.

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra

When I was first watching the two episodes I thought they might twist the expectations, and have the dark spirit be the one who won and eventually fused with the avatar. It's victory was supposed to remake the world, and the current setting is radically different visually. Sadly everything was just ...

For what it's worth I also went to not showering in my head when I read that. You wash to get rid of the grease and grim, so if you're greasy it means you haven't washed.

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra

I missed the first 10 minutes of the show, so I don't know why Mako teamed up with a bunch of mobsters, but what I do know is that Korra getting a case of explosive amnesia is pretty damn lame. The worst part was Asami kissing Mako. I literally shouted "No!" at the TV. It's a shame becaus...

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Is he middle-aged? I know he's older than Korra, but I put him in his twenties. Maybe his 30s I guess (that voice... really doesn't suit him, it puts me off). I dunno. To me he looks older than Ozai did and he had two teenage kids, I just assumed he was in his mid 30s at least. edit: Man it's been ...

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra

I was more disappointed with General Iroh. Korra is a willful 16 year old who's been told all her life that she is the ultimate authority when it comes to maintaining balance in the world. It didn't seem out of character to me that she wouldn't accept being told no, and head off to try and force he...

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra

I saw it more like a desperate desire to pass on his culture to the one child he had that turned out to be an airbender.

Oh, right, the 3rd episode. I thought that hour long premier was one episode for some reason :?

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra

I thought the premier was a bit rough, especially how Bolin was being forced into the goofball comic relief roll even more than in the first season.

The second episode was pretty good though.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach

There's a thing that bugs me with the plot of the first novel(s) of The Horus Heresy series... So, the Imperium of Man, at that point, does not believe in the supernatural or in demons, which is why they are left unprepared to the corruption of chaos. However, by that point, Humanity had been using...

Re: Behold my half-assed attempt at a fan fic.

I found out about this place way back when, uh, I forget exactly when, but it had something to do with mk sheppard being stupid. So I signed up here after learning there was a place filled with people who didn't like what was going on over on that other site. Then a week later you all decided to sto...

Re: Behold my half-assed attempt at a fan fic.

It's probably not a good idea to get bogged down with how long it "should be" and just write out what you want to convey. If you can tell a good story in 1000 words or less go for it. If you need hundreds of pages that's fine too. Just so long as you don't just pad it out with pointless fi...
