Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

Yup. But at least I know to avoid them going forward.

Wear and tear on the equipment aside, it's cheaper to do it myself and I won't have to have people on the property. That's the positive bit I'm trying to focus on anyways.

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

Long story short; when we bought this place the manure left by the previous residents was to be removed. Rather then sue and ruin my relationship with everyone here I tried to get it done the old fashioned way. It didn't work. They just turned it over and piled it up saying when it was ready to haul...

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

And so the saga of the manure ends with me paying for its removal, a destroyed friendship and a gate being put up at either end of the property with a "GTFO" sign on it.

Shoulda just sued.

Never get out of the Mako, you might get attacked by a space tiger.

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

He should, his family has been farming here for a hundred years. Talking with the neighbours afterwards one tells me he did his weeks ago with snow on the ground because the area hasn't been grazed properly since 2011 means there's so much grass that even though the ground is wet, it just burns acro...

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

Spent this evening racing around cause our neighbour decided to do a burn across the highway from us, the winds are high (there is a burn ban) and it jumped over a hay road into my other neighbours pasture/alfalfa. Burned out hundreds of acres, jumped the highway and would have took out the dump if ...

Re: videojuegos

The first is ok, its very clunky now. 90's conspiracy theories were far more interesting then current ones so it has that going for it. The second? I've only played enough to realize its shit. Human Revolution is beautiful, and has decent atmosphere, i'm a big fan of Blade Runner and HR has a lot of...

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

Went into the store today and got asked if we wanted tickets to the community dinner, I said I'd be happy to buy them to support the community and our centre but that we likely wouldn't go to the dinner. I should have just said "sure" and bought them, as my comment just required me to expl...

Yeah, my son bought it but doesn't bother playing it. CoD always took a backseat to Battlefield with us, the multi was much better. Haven't tried Hardline, any good?

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

Had to put another hen down thanks to pecking. After talking to my friend, he thinks it's a nutritional deficiency, it does coincide with a switch in food. So I'll race into town tomorrow for the CO-OP feed and maybe a supplement to keep them from eating themselves until the switch takes effect. I h...

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

So my pig feed supplier appears to have disappeared, won't answer the phone, won't return text messages. I can get feed at the Co-Op but not at 30 cents a pound and not organic.

I take it thats a drug?

In the most fucked up thing to happen on the farm yet, we went to feed the livestock Saturday morning and i found the chickens had pecked a huge hole in one of the hens back. So deep I could see organs.

I put it down immediately but, jesus fucking christ.

It's probably less stress then escorting deportees, which was her previous gig. I just find it funny that for all the emphasis on university, the only family member actually working in her field is my sister, she's an archeologist. Even my mother switched careers. Unfortunately my cousin has the fam...

Herd immunity could save her daughters life.
