Re: ROUGE ONE: KINDA LIKE STAR WARS
I think this is true but probably is more of an overhaul change than you think it is. Jar Jar is just a bad character that is executed poorly. It's almost 'go back to the drawing board' in terms of trying to fix him. Incidentally, I think the first... 15-20 mins of TPM are actually fairly solid. Th...

Re: ROUGE ONE: KINDA LIKE STAR WARS
It was a titanic misstep in a film that was filled with them. The funny thing is, for all of its faults, I feel that TPM could have been a great Star Wars movie with a few relatively minor changes (as opposed to AOTC, which would need some major overhauls). The big parts of my list, in no particula...

Re: ROUGE ONE: KINDA LIKE STAR WARS
fun fact tho: " midi-chlorians " were apparently there from the start, mentioned in some memo from lucas to aspiring EU writers back in -77 :science: It's pretty silly how upset some people get at the idea that a trait that is by all appearances passed down genetic lines and gives a small...

Re: videojuegos
Saints Row as a series is kind of like Deadpool. It started out as little more than a clone of a rival product, but slowly developed an identity of its own as it embraced the ridiculousness of its concept and focused on being silly. That said, I think the developers of the Saints Row games did pull ...

Re: Trek Thread
I can see why people would like it. I just thought it was goofy. Especially the part where the ship is literally surfing a wave of ships, as in the enemy ships for some reason flew in a formation designed to look like a wave, and the Franklin flew through that formation like a surfer. The only way i...

Yeah I think Brexit will mean the end of the UK as we know it, and boy I'm just soooo cut up about that let me tell you I think though this might also hurt the EU. If I've appeared to have been sympathetic to Brexit (not really here but I've definitely talked about this on facebook with guys like B...

While I do acknowledge that the Brexit was a horrible idea that will cause social and economic havok worldwide, I will admit that the part of me who is descended from Irish rebels, criminals, and terrorists would get some amount of perverse pleasure if the Leave campaign gets hoisted by their own pe...

it is also the best possible chance at destroying the coalition of interests that make up the republican party. if trump wins the nomination, the election is almost certainly going to go to the democrats, and there's a good chance a lot of republicans will stay home rather than vote for trump. if t...

Sure they are. They're literally the surviving Jedi Council. They are the surviving members of the Council, but the argument could be made that they are fallen Jedi. Their decision to train Luke was to give him the ability to kill Vader and Palpatine. Their concern was less in preparing him to resu...

It even had the whole 'beloved character sacrifices himself to save his friends' ending with the 'but is he really dead?' thing too. ID didn't even fuck around with that, they brought Kirk back immediately. Which makes me wonder why kill him off at all. This is probably the part about Into Darkness...

Citadel seems to be well liked for being none-to-serious and having a lot of fandom notes and metahumour. Not sure that's my cup of tea. Leviathan's supposed to be good for the backstory and mythos. But I don't really give a shit like that. I kind of want to get/like Omega, its another thing that f...

Soldier and Infiltrator play a lot alike since they are more focused on fighting behind cover. You can try Vanguard if you want to run-and-gun a bit more, since its kit is a lot more focused on getting up close to the enemies (particularly with Biotic Charge and being able to use shotguns). Most of ...

It has its faults, but it is mostly column A. Mechanically it's just okay, and the shoehorned multiplayer mode undermines the message a bit, but it has one of the better written video game stories in recent memory.

Speaking of simulators, does anyone know why Goat Simulator is apparently super popular on Steam? Probably the same reason there appears to be one for I Am Bread. It is a ridiculous concept that revels in its ridiculousness. You can't really claim that a game that allows you to play as a microwave ...

Yeah, if you like Christmas enjoy it. I still reserve the right to be grumpy, though. My family's also pretty sick of it, though not quite to the degree I am. We don't do decorations, or listen to carols (most of the available radio stations play them wall-to-wall after Thanksgiving). We have no tre...

I'm glad that I don't have to deal with that. I've pretty much had it with Christmas in general. The only things I still tolerate about it at this point is spending time with my parents and taking the day off work. And I personally reserve the right to be grumpy about it. Just about everything about...

I still think Episode VII should be like RED, in that it's the old characters from Star Wars kicking ass while also being old people. Maybe Han and Leia have settled down and had kids, when one of the big names from the days of the rebellion (let's say Admiral Ackbar) dies under mysterious circumsta...

Yeah, it would have been nice to see more, but I can see why they focused on the western front. It would have stretched the game a bit thin to try to stretch the story to cover every single theater. Plus, it was made by a French developer and all. :frogs: I wouldn't mind seeing them do additional st...

So this weekend I played through Valiant Hearts. I consider it a very fitting memorial for WWI, since it depicts the whole ordeal as a never-ending horror show where millions of people died completely pointless deaths. I actually find it kind of insulting when people try to find some kind of meaning...

Make sure you've got microsoft security essentials; some PCs have it pre-installed, but it's free regardless. He mentioned the laptop is 8.1, so it technically won't run MSE. I have now gained a better understanding of the bitching on the TSA from personnal experience. 1 hour wait at the US custom. Seriously? The worst part was that there was easily more than 200 people waiting to be processed, and there was only between 3 and 5 (depending on the moment) processing boot...
