Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
it's currently the hottest week on record I've heard a South African complaining that 'argh if I wanted this weather I would have stayed at home' anyway a run of weather like this doesn't come along very often here, so I've got to make the most of it I live in Chicago, last year people I knew in th...

Let me know when you're done talking about sdn Yeah, good luck with that. SDN is the common thread among a plurality, if not an overwhelming majority of this board. The only way you're going to completely remove it from conversation is burning down the forum, salting the URL, dispersing us for four...

... and at the same time, channelnumbers is outright saying that black people can't be trusted to run their own country because Liberia is representative of all black people.
I think that's enough internet for me.

well I don't think they'd go that far but yeah inviting the Palestinians into Israel was the most unbelievable part of the book for me, even ahead of Cuba becoming a world power because of the capitalist spirit of US refugees Well in the book the invitation to the Palestinians did spark a civil war...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
Yeah well Metahive and others have spoken. O yea, gods I wish he would add the "h" to the "O". But anyway I concede. No good can come out of any further "yes, but..." circles about why it's possible for human militaries to make missteps and lose to zombies. Sad thing i...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
Apparently the movie is better than the trailers equating the walking dead with Palestinians would have you believe Funny thing is in that particular scene, Palestinian refugees are some of the first people attacked by the zoombies. In any case, Neil Gaiman totally is one of the most overrated nerd...

So I've been a longtime watcher of things like Repair Her Armor, The Hawkeye Initiative, and Escher Girls.
I stumbled across this image:

You're all very very welcome.

Look at that bodice. One direct hit to those strings and everyone in a thirty foot radius is getting hit by shrapnel.

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
I'd also expect flesh eating bacteria to be very rapidly weaponized as if the zombies' immune systems are no longer functional they'll tear through them and disable them with incredible rapidity. Any organic material is vulnerable to biological warfare. That would actually make a pretty good zombie...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
Keep in mind that tactics against zombies will differ from tactics against humans due to the fear factor alone. The lone sniper/machine gunner in a good position gets assaulted by people, after the first five or six people fall over with holes in various portions of their bodies, the rest are going ...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
aren't modern weapons more focused on penetration rather than fire-bukkake, though? Depends on what they are intended for. Is it a bunker buster, a runway cratering bomb, an anti-tank bomb/missile, an anti personnel bomb/missile, etc... ? I think one of the most important difference between modern ...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
I'm not a numbers kind of guy generally, but if I were I'd probably point out that 'modern ordnance' is a lot different than WWII carpet bombing from B-17s. By how much I cannot say though. But I bet someone would bring it up. Well besides me. :v Not trying to start shit, just saying. I think it'd ...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
You know, the conversation actually piqued my interest on just how effective carpet-bombing would be against zombies. So, armchair-research, I took a look at a few of the numbers surrounding the bombing of Dresden. The refugee population of Dresden when the bombing started, at a low end, is estimate...

The thing about Yonkers is... well there are a few things about Yonkers. Yes, it does strain credibility in ways. But that's no excuse to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Yes, the setup might have been incompetent to an unreasonable level, but given historical precedent, the exaggeration isn't...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
I don't like zombie movies mainly because they don't even try to explain all that. They just kind of go "and suddenly ZOMBIES ps society collapsed lol" which feels like a total asspull to me. I mean in this one it seemed to go down like, scattered reports around the world. But then all of...

Not sure if you're refering to my reply, because I certainly am not pushing the view that the military could have done much better under the circumstances. No dude, your reply was the reasonable one. Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
It's a good book. And the reason I'm offended by the film is that when they acquired the rights for the source material, they had a chance to bring a different kind of zombie apocalypse story to the screen. Then they realised it couldn't be done in their format, or was too hard so fuck it. See Supe...
