Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
Mother of fuck. See, i'd really like to use Spacebattles.com as my new go to place to talk about Sci-fi, Fantasy, and other nerdy stuff, since SDN is a wasteland and nobody here ever really wants to talk about it, but every time something new comes out, like today with the Dr. Who 50th anniversary ...

It doesn't take a couple seasons to get worse.
But it gets worse every season.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
I personally don't think the problem with sd.net is any sort of vitriol or insults or anything by itself I think the issue comes from the liberal privileged-as-default-and-right perspective that laces the board combined with the massively competitive nature (so basically because it's full of patria...

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
I think there's a difference between "I am not attracted to people who are visually distinct from the cisgendered, i.e. who do not look like 'typical' women or men" and "I am not attracted to people who are transgendered regardless of their appearance, even if they look like supermode...

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
Evilsoup? (first paragraph by Rebecca) At first, Laurie couldn't decide which kind of tea she wanted. The chamomile, which used to be her favorite for lazy evenings at home, now reminded her too much of Carl, who once said, in happier times, that he liked chamomile. But she felt she must now, at all...

Just making an awkward attempt at idle prattle. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/65/ST-TNG_Tapestry.jpg XD :neckbeard: :brah: This reminds me of a learning disability we covered in class that usually went undiagnosed for years because the children would learn to mimic the sounds of common...

Yeah, kids should at least prove some of the basics in Trig or they might end up really stuck later if they forget one little formula. Understanding where all the identities come from and why the Pythagorean Theorem is the cornerstone of Trig can really help a student fill in any gaps or brain burps...

This is because you're majoring in Math right? They aren't going to make someone learn this if they want to teach say, History or Government or something like that? Math education is not the same as a flat out mathematics degree. The program at my school has a huge portion of the degree devoted to ...

Is it his ..."prose style"? Most of his proofs were written before there was any kind of universal terminology, so the wording is hugely clunky. Some of the translations or reprints or whatever usually have a numbered proof paraphrasing his argument, as well as a labelled illustration, whi...

Euclid can lick my balls. Anyone have a Delorean? What's wrong with Euclid? His proofs were clever and elegant, considering they predate algebra and the Indian-Arabic numeral system (in the West). If you want to see modern proofs as interesting, you'd have to look in Number Theory or Neutral Geomet...

I am not advocating using her personal life against her in any way, except for the times when it results in your children suffering (for example, from penis pictures). My understanding is that he is in...

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
Pacific Rim made more in China than in the US, is selling merchandise above expectations, and will almost certainly do stellar on DVD and Blu-Ray. I saw it with my wife. Twice. Which really says something about how much she enjoyed it. But, we both loved Final Wars, too, so that has a lot to do with...
