Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament
My gramma on my dad's side passed away early this morning from cancer. Peacefully and quietly, in her own home, after basically her entire extended family spent this month flying in to see her (including me two weekends ago). I'm glad I got to see her while she was alert and smiling. I wish we all h...

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament
I've made it my annual gift to myself to run away from christmas every year. usually *on* christmas, cause that's when plane tickets are cheapest, but usually before. i fly away from home to hang out with my bestest best friend and his family, who are all jewish. Yes, they really do eat chinese food...

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
Well, I might be. It wouldn't be the first time, and I'm open to that. From my perspective it's other people who are complicating the problem (because i am perfect, and beautiful). I have a hard time grasping that people think Sheev ruins or detracts from the character, I guess, and it seems like th...

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
See, that's just... that's the thing. Sheev is not any more or less ridiculous or stupid sounding than Darth Vader.
I think people have become innured to just how dumb star wars names actually are, by virtue of being a foundational part pop culture for 40 years.

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
Why is it a bad idea? What part of 'sheev' mystically detracts from his menace and scaryness? It's just a name that a person would have. It's not silly, it's not weird, it's not anything. It's this guy's name. It changes nothing about who he is or how he does things or why he does things. People ar...

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
Pointless I guess I can kind of understand. "Stupid" is an undeserved and meaningless qualifier in a universe where the only fat rebel pilot was named Porkins , the bounty hunter who got shot because he was too greedy was named Greedo , and the sleaze bag drug dealer on Coruscant was named...

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
I really do not understand the "problem" with Sheev.
It's a first name. People have those. It is not any more or less weird than Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, or Shmi. It changes nothing about the character's gravitas or dramatic impact.

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
there was a scene from a book I think starring Wedge, where the guys servicing his x-wing were telling him that they had run out of room to paint his kills on his ship.
Does this sound familiar to anyone and if so can you tell me where to find the quote?

Diablo 3 on console is the best version of the game, but my review of this may be biased as I was able to play it on a couch with three other people.

Re: videojuegos
status update on my PS4 I sent it in to sony for repair to try and fix the problem I have (the screen goes black or flashes, makes system completely unusable, happens on all monitors/cables I've tried it with). Three and a half weeks later, the system has arrived back at my house. Plugged it in, pro...

Re: videojuegos
I played it about 4 hours, according to Steam.
It was kind of neat, but the really cool stuff came way to few and far between, and the game clearly suffered from its trouble development history. I never got around to finishing it.

Re: Share your favorite Star Wars memories
So I'm watching CG Clone Wars with my besty best friend. We just watched Dooku Captured and Gungan General, which is a two-parter in season one and Kenobi is in top jackass form and all the interactions are great, but there are at least two huge gaping plot holes I can't resolve. At the end of Dooku...
