"Spock, I suspect you're becoming more and more human all the time."
"Captain, I see no reason to stand here and be insulted."
this is what television is supposed to be!

Re: Trek Thread
"Court Martial" does Kirk really have an "EJECT POD" button right next to "Red Alert" and the communication button on his chair? Doesn't that seem a little prone to easy accidental ejections?! eeek.
but i enjoyed the rest of the episode.

Re: Trek Thread
Kirk orders "warp factor one" a lot, like half the episodes end that way. I wonder why so slow.

Re: Trek Thread
"Miri", I kinda love seeing the blueshirts going through folders, using microscopes, it just feels like SCIENCE! Though, if I were on that landing party, I would have vaporized every last annoying kid immediately. and lol they spend the first minute making a big deal of how it is Earth... ...

Re: Trek Thread
They did use space suits in Voyager, several times (at least after First Contact came out, I'm pretty sure they got hand me down gear from the movie production). A couple that come to mind are "Demon" and "Friendship One" (errr I think). But yeah, I agree Enterprise did a lot of ...

Re: Trek Thread
they are going to kill off trip like this?!! WTF. NON CANON. Seriously, Terra Prime is the finale as far as I'm concerned, this these are the voyages episode sucked. I kinda do like the names on the uniforms though, but the color gives poor contrast. But I do kinda like this show, I think I'll purch...

Re: Trek Thread
Maybe I spoke too soon about it not having a Great episode, I really enjoyed that Terra Prime one - a nice episode on its own, and I think it is a fine finale too. I'll have to watch it again to make that determination, but the fact that I want to watch it again is a good sign. Whelp, time to see Th...

Re: Trek Thread
"Terra Prime" and whoa, some interesting background music! I haven't heard much of that since voyager season one (which I thought was decent, but then it got Bermanized by season two.). The Moon and Mars both make for some nice alien worlds too :P I have to admit, I'm sad to see this show ...

Re: Trek Thread
lemme quote your facebook comment And that's basically my problem with Enterprise wrapped up in a neat little bow: often great ideas they don't execute the best way they could have. It's frequently and solidly ok. It occasionally reaches levels of Good. Once or twice it hits rock bottom Terrible but...

Re: Trek Thread
The background monitors in season 4 all moved to having a bunch of blinking rounded rectangles... i think the art department again is trying to bridge into the TOS style. nice.

Re: Trek Thread
These three part stories are pretty cool, kinda reminds me of old doctor who. But I'm quite enjoying these. Having the Romulans running drones too is genius, way to work with the TOS nobody has ever seen them thing. I like it.

Re: Trek Thread
I just finished season three and the show has obviously changed. The theme song got remixed... and this version sounds OK to me on the TV. I still like the season 1/2 version as an independent song, perhaps even better, but this season 3 version I do think makes for a better tv show theme..... thoug...

Re: Trek Thread
Another note, and more praise for the art side of things, the Enterprise uniforms are growing on me. I like the variety we see, with them changing clothes on some planets, and the ordinary one is just a nice design - it looks pretty good and seems generally practical. The color blue too makes me thi...

Re: Trek Thread
I just watched the episode "Bounty". The A-plot was OK, like with the Andorian stuff, seeing people we know will be in the Federation later being antagonistic is fun to me and Archer softening their hearts shows the seeds that will sprout to be the Federation and explain why Earth is so im...

Re: Trek Thread
Well, Porthos is obviously the best ever, but I kinda like Phlox best among the others. Trip and Reed are cool too. Hoshi and Travis I think are underused, though I do like them when they are doing something. Archer and T'Pol are just kinda meh. I don't dislike them (most the time), but I don't love...

trip tucker's list of movies has two that sound familiar: "Dixon Hill and the Black Orchid" and "The Bride of Chaotica" apparently in the ST universe those are two of the longest lived franchises up there with Shakespeare! Think about that for a minute, like 200 years later, thes...

Re: Trek Thread
"The Communicator" was a pretty fun episode and again getting into prime directive territory. I was expecting to hate the ending but this one was OK. From the title, I was reminded of "A Piece of the Action", and actually the old NES Star Trek 25th anniversary game. At the end of...

Re: Trek Thread
Yeah, I agree. That's what really got me about the end too: Archer just kinda abruptly flipped sides without a great reason in character, he doesn't have any experience to justify that switch. We've said before that the theme of TOS is "we aren't perfect, but we're getting there". (I'd arg...
