TOS got hamstrung by its third season with a drop in budget and even Gene going 'fuck this show.'
And yeah, holy shit the gender issues. Maybe have all the female crew wear pants? I dunno that's just a suggestion.

Re: Trek Thread
Heh, I hadn't thought of that.
It kinda speaks volumes of how much Spock and Saren were estranged.
I suppose it's possible they may not have even been on Vulcan at the time? He could have been doing ambassadorial shit elsewhere with Amanda in tow.

Re: Trek Thread
'Catspaw' is weak but something about it makes me enjoy it. 'The Apple' though? It's not one of my favourites. Though I do get a sort of morbid laugh out of all the red shirt deaths (I think it has the highest number of redshirts who buy the farm) like to the point where some dude lands on a rock an...

Re: Trek Thread
Defence isn't obligated to call in witnesses, and sometimes the best defence strategy is to just tear the prosecution's case to shreds. But no cross-examination? Uhhhhh... you can't tear the prosecution case to shreds if you don't cross their witnesses.

Re: Trek Thread
Man Regeneration was actually pretty cool
And Reed got an ATTABOY from me
'How 'bout instead of faffing about with frequency modulation I just up the power on our guns to 11'
And wouldn't you know it, that was way more effective too.

Re: Trek Thread
I meant TNG the show, though now that I think about it I do recall them using a vacc suit on Voyager at least once.
Haha Regeneration is off to a good start.
'Maybe we should quarantine these things because we have no idea what we're dealing with.'
'I'm sure it'll be fine.'

Re: Trek Thread
'Duet' is a sensational episode, but it's an episode in the same season that gave us 'Move Along Home' and that dumb episode where O'Brien was a storyteller or something. But fair cop, I haven't seen an episode of Enterprise that has reached the lofty heights TOS, TNG, DS9 and even Voyager had achie...

Re: Trek Thread
Yeah I'm with Crazedwraith. WYLB is a mess. Stupid Pah Wraith Plot is stupid. Dominion War wrap up felt rushed. Honestly the Dominion War in general felt like a misstep in a lot of ways but it really became annoying at the end of the show where they kept raising the stakes and making the bad guys al...

Re: Trek Thread
Dear Doctor pisses me off because it's a perfect demonstration of why Enterprise failed to capture people's hearts. It's a good episode up until the last five minutes. It has an interesting idea that is executed poorly. You have characters who are otherwise likable do heinous inaction with zero just...

Re: Trek Thread
I actually really enjoyed Broken Bow when I saw it a couple months ago, along with most of season 1. Even Dear Doctor, which is a bad episode, was good for most of it up until the last five minutes. It reminded me of Data's Day. I seriously can't get over how much I could just sit back and enjoy Ent...

Re: Trek Thread
I didn't think Endgame was a great way to end the series, but honestly I really liked how they didn't get home until the final scene and the final shot was Voyager approaching Earth with an escort. THAT part I really liked.
It's really the rest of the episode that feels lacklustre.

Re: Trek Thread
I thought it was goofy too, but in a good way. This is the same franchise that gave us Kirk outlogicing a genocidal all powerful space probe. Or having a different kind of all powerful space probe nearly wipe out all life on Earth because the humpback whales were extinct. Or talking robots to death ...
