Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
I know Kamakazie Sith is a very much police apologist who will excuse damn near anything if done by the blue wall, but wow . Prevented from leaving a room in solidary confinement is totally the same as a line of less than a dozen protestors huddling heads bowed on a sidewalk blocking someone's path ...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
So how's this for fucked up? I am going on 24 hours without electricity, and later tonight I am going to LAN party at my friend Richard's house not one mile down the street. He has not lost power. What the hell could knock out power to such a small area and require this long to fix? I'm going to gu...

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance
Honestly of all the ways a life could finish up, that is probably the worst I can conceive of. I had someone in my year group from highschool who was honestly smarter than me. Except after graduating he was caught in a car accident (as a passanger), and had to learn how to walk and talk again and n...

Re: Testing Chat IV: A New Hope
By curiosity, wouldn't there be some legal considerations to be had if SDN moved from Canada to Australia ? Some copyright laws and other things ? Nothing that matters to be honest. Both Australian and Canada legally need to honor DMCA takedown requests. At least for this server's ISP, there is no ...

Guv'ness you've crashed TEO :O Is not loading! Hilariously, this forum's hardware is so over speced it could run both SDN & sb.com without noticing besides the increased traffic utilisation (which is the expensive bit in Australia). And Perth, Western Australia idea of bad weather is just hot s...

I'm so tempted to back that if they add a high-def version of episode 1 to any of the bluray versions.

I've moved the database store to a faster storage device (which I've been meaning todo for a while). Hopefully shouldn't happen again unless it is a networking derp.

Rfid chips are used everywhere these days. They are so cheap these days, they are be paired with accelerometers to determine exactly which step in the chain it suffered excess acceleration which is known to break stuff.Losonti Tokash wrote:rfid chips and thumbprint scanners seem like solutions looking for a problem

It can't be any worse than Kamikaze Sith on SB trying to use a published paper he hasn't read or couldn't access which said the opposite of his stated point.Darksi4190 wrote:I think my brain just exploded from reading Saxonite's most recent post in the Zimmerman trial thread.

I can't wait for SSDs to mature enough to become competitive with hard disk drives. They already are. What needs to happen is for people to stop saying "omg I need the slowest 1tb spinning rust on the market" when they can get a 256gb SSD for the same price. Sure, they aren't competitive ...

The closest thing in procedural or object oriented is probably LINQ. It's a pitty LINQ doesn't play very nicely with async/await. Those two keywords have some really trippy function re-writing going on in the background which supports some really nice functionality of nearly-free blocking free code...

they're right to live in fear, since piracy is a massive threat to their business model - it has already destroyed a lot of the big record labels. This kind of draconian idiocy isn't the right reaction, of course. Market consolidation and massive shift away from albums to singles via electronic sal...
