So it turns out there's one good Power Rangers movie
NSFW (gore and tits) Quote the creator: "It's a parody in that it is a conceptual straight faced hyperbole. Every scene is straight-faced and serious and believable. If you watched it and enjoyed every minute of it dramatically, literally - you're not stupid, you're honest. That's what I wante...

Re: videojuegos
I've gone on a retro kick and set up a RetroPi. It's scraping the metadata for every 16-bit Nintendo game now and a USB SNES controller is on its way.
I've also dusted off the N64 and damn, Jet Froce Gemini is as good as I remember. Awesome music too.

Re: Hail, Caesar!
I wouldn't say that I hated it, but it didn't work for me. There were good moments and I could identify with Brolin's character to an extent, but the rest sort of fell flat for me. You and quite a few other people going by the reviews. Seems like it's a clean split between people for whom the movie...

Hail, Caesar!
So I went and watched the new Coen brothers movie today. Don't ask me about the plot because I don't think there is one. There are colourful characters and great scenes and interesting ideas but it all hangs together by a thread storywise. The closest it gets to an arc is Josh Brolin deciding on a j...

Re: So it turns out there's a good vampire movie
One of the themes of the movie is that these are basically guys who are >200 years out of date on everything and one is literally a medieval tryrant. When Deacon says he was with the Nazis it doesn't really seem to register with him that there's something wrong or strange about it. As for the deaths...

Re: Let's Big Orange this shit: rank the Trek movies!
I liked the first reboot movie. Great effects, great cast. Shoddy story, but good enough to lead into a series.
Too bad they took that potential and ran it off a cliff.

Re: TFA spoilers und summary
The biggest complaint I've seen and one that I can agree with is that it's A New Hope 2.0. It's so blatant that it had to have been deliberate. I feel like the plot should have revolved around the Search for Spock Luke, rather than faffing about on Starkiller Base. That I didn't mind at all. Luke is...

I may see it again in 2D. The 3D was well-done for 3D but it still looked murky.

Re: TFA spoilers
Decades have passed since ROTJ. Luke tried to train a new generation of Jedi but one of them fell to the Dark Side and Luke disappeared. Leia has a theory he went to the first Jedi temple but nobody knows where it is. Meanwhile, the remains of the Empire have been taken over by a Dark Side user cal...

Re: Episode VII: The Force Awakens
I have seen it. TIE fighters have ejector seats, Stormtrooper armour isn't NBC sealed and TEO ruined me.
The movie is also bitchin cool. Looks good, sounds good, lots of laughs, a few tears, about three end-of-TESB level reveals.

Ah, recruiters. "We have exciting opportunities in Glasgow!" - no thanks, I prefer to stay un-shanked. "Come and work for us at <megacorp>!" - I might've, if I wasn't already working as a contractor for another branch of your company.
Bless 'em for trying, though.

Cops ask politely not to tweet pictures of operations while they're ongoing, so of course the tabloids set up a live stream with every makeshift barricade and perimeter in Brussels.

Talking about retarding your spark plugs would be a bitch if the filter was that eager. Just restarted the Shadow Warrior remake. It's nice to play a game that rewards a bit of exploration and has a combat system with some variety. The first time I played it I gave up after a while because the shott...
