Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

Today I walked up to the register of a Lego store and put down my VIP card. And it felt good.

You know you're getting old when you don't remember the injokes of the board you were a member on on day one.

Or when you're a member of a board. What's the cool thing these days? Voat?

Re: videojuegos

I replayed Alpha Protocol. Yes, it's buggy. Yes, the AI is I'M A JUGGALO WOOP WOOP. Yes, the controls are clunky. But I really, really wish someone would take the concept of a dynamic storyline and run with it. I think I saw less than 50% of the story from my original run and there were whole subplo...

Played about 75% of the way through it before my old HDD died :-) Guess it might be fun to reinstall it and give it another go.

Re: videojuegos

I played Wolfenstein TNO and it was, indeed, a great game. I didn't care much for the 'sneak to the officer before he trips the alarm' mechanic but the rest of it was really fun. And the settings was really a labour of love.

Re: videojuegos

Does anyone have recommendations for a shooter from, say, the last five years that plays well and help relieve stress? Preferably something where you have to think a bit and not just run in blazing.

Re: videojuegos

I've had Max Payne 3 in my Steam list for eons. Finally decided to play through it. It's better than what I remember. The environments are nicely different and the story, apart from the narration, is actually pretty interesting. Shame about the occasional bugs. And I finished Call of Duty: World At ...

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

Jesus christ, seventy years later and you guys still haven't cleaned up properly. And I hear you're still sorting our shit from the one before that . WWI ordnance is mostly found near the coast, what with the trenches having been there. Inland it's usually around train stations. The station here wa...

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

Got off work an hour early today because of an unexploded 2000lb bomb in the station behind the office. War - it's the shitty gift that keeps on giving.

Thanks Hitler!

Re: Testing Episode IV: A New Lament

My contract at my current client has been extended to June 2015. On the one hand, some of my colleagues are cool and the commute is good. On the other, the project is shitballs and the stupid decisions are starting to become recursive. But I get a new car so that's nice. It's bluer than the old one,...

attn ADR: are you still into the D

I'm looking to pick up a new technology but I'd like tomething a bit more robust than Javascript framework #17 NOW WITH NESTED MONADS. Why should I want D? (bg: Java professionally (lol), lots of Python, some C and assorted nonsense)

Re: Lament 3: Cry Hard With A Vengeance

Wifi on Linux. Yeah, feel that cold shudder down your spine. I spent an hour trying to get my crash happy wifi dongle to play nice with Xubuntu when suddenly I had an epiphany. Everything is better with wires. Eth0 is always there for me, but I don't have a wire from the internet to my office. BUT. ...

I actually kinda like the stands, it means there's no holes in the models. Well, except the Borg Sphere, but what're ya gonna do about that one. They don't really bother me.
