i think the problem with fincher

is that he made the best procedural of all time in zodiac

i'm not being an over-enthusiastic geek when i say that, i genuinely can't think of any procedural i've ever seen that was anywhere near as gripping or memorable as zodiac

so it would be hard for him to live up to my expectations
I feel the same way. I don't think he'll ever top Zodiac. EVER. What's sad is that many people haven't seen it AND the Blu-ray is out of print. I was hoping that after the success with the Social Network (should have won best director and picture instead of that oscar bait bullshit) would have caused the studio to put it back in production. It would be nice if Criterion would pick it up, seeing as how it IS the quintessential procedural. They're too busy putting out boring crap that makes people feel distinguished because they like it, however.

Here is my problem with Tattoo:

Dragon Tattoo isn’t perfect, by any means. It’s not even Fincher’s best work. The problems that exist lie in the narrative after the climax. While it’s still engaging, it seems to fall flat and doesn’t resonate with what came before it. The audience is exhausted by the trials Salander and Blomkvist endure and the abrupt ending, after a short cool down, is just as jarring as the abrupt introduction prior to the title sequence. The ending leaves something to be desired, namely that another installment should be on its way. That may happen over the coming years, but the abrupt ending coupled with wanting more is not a good thing.

It's an AAA shovelwere sequal, your "resolution" is in the next game. And by resolution I mean the cocktease for the sequal.

It's what I thought Brotherhood was going to be: shitload of Ezio wank with no relevance to main plot. Was under the impression we'd get to see Altair for more than ten minutes, but nope.

brotherhood at least added a few interesting characters

revelations is kind of . . . just there

they tried spicing it up with some tower defense minigame and a few new tricks but for the most part it just wasn't as good as the last two

but you're still rushing to your second job

i was walking the dogs and found this little dog running around without an owner

i tried to check the tags on the collar but it kept running away

eventually i think it went back to a house

brotherhood was pretty important to the desmond storyline

revelations has desmond in a coma for the whole game and kills 16 after he says some uselessly cryptic bullshit so the main story literally does not progress whatsoever

i mean i guess you could count the infodump at the end as something except it literally doesn't say anything that wasn't obvious from the first game?

I would like to say "fuck you" to Nvidia Optimus, a technology that doesn'' seem to work. Sure, I can choose to use the GT 520M card on games, but it wont work, but instead uses the shitty Intel HD card. Fuck you, Nvidia.

What the shit man? They're boarding up a house catty corner from mine. It's apparently been abandoned or something (I don't really know the story) and they felt that wasn't going to lower property values enough so they're boarding it up.

Eh. Place is already ruined. The house, at least on the outside, looks fine, but the front yard is dead, the back yard is overgrown and the back fence (which is adjacent to a large overflow/drain ditch) is missing a whole bunch of the slats. Which, to me, means they should take some of that money we pay in dues and use it to fix/keep the place up enough that they can sell it, or at least keep it presentable, but I guess they didn't think a derelict house was a problem for everyone else.

We just needed it to be more obvious.

She isn't even halfway through before she's saying 'why don't they just gang up on the bad guy' and 'why not carry a shotgun and tie him out while he's down'.

I had to explain the hilarious XP ranking system invented for the tv show (just like dragon ball lol) b let's face it there's no answer to any of this. 'they're just idiots'.
