How do you recreate the Obama "Hope" poster?

I'm doing some image work for friends, and they've requested a pic of my friend Matthyas done in the style of that Obama picture that was so famous for some reason. Is there a way to do so easily?

It's famous because it was done by the same guy who made the "Obey" stickers.

It's famous because it's iconic imagery, not because it's done by a guy who knows how to do iconic imagery.
