They can apparently be really annoying, driving around at seven in the morning on weekends.

Shouldn't that be some kind of noise code violation? Especially in a large yet confined city like they have over there. Shit, I can't even cut my grass before eight.

Well I don't really know much about Japanese law, so it's a mystery to me. It apparently pretty normal.

Also it seems like it would be considered extremely rude over there. Isn't their culture fairly polite and orderly?

i just realized i am anti science. one of the work things is to track user's movements on the sites etc.

my response is "meh who gives a shit i'll get around to it when i get around to it"

but tracking user stuff is THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD applied to online marketing

thus i am anti science

Continuing what we were talking about before, Aaron: http://t.co/N7qDh8DY Wildrose is against immigrants, against Human Rights Tribunals, for gun rights. When things add up like that, it doesn't look good for visible minorities, hey?

Yeah, when I was in Thailand before the elections last year there were endless Toyota pickup trucks rolling around the streets with a metal frame in the bed holding two giant billboards with the picture of the leader of the political party they were campaigning for and the number 7 or 3 or whatever for what number their party was on the list of parties for the proportional representation as well as some kind of slogan, endlessly slow-rolling through traffic in the curb lane while a rig of about four giant loudspeakers blared campaign music and slogans endlessly. The fancier ones even had televisions bolted to them broadcasting campaign commercials.

In Tasmania there's an independant MP who has a car which rolls around with a counter showing how much money has been poured into the pokies for the year. It's pretty unique for the area lol

have you non-americans heard about the rebellion in bahrain?

i've been watching (iranian) presstv and they talk about it kinda a lot, with a lot of talk of "human rights violations of the bahraini regime" and activitists on hunger strikes

but i don't think i've heard a single god damned thing about it from any american sources (they are too busy masturbating to the idea of war with syria apparently)

obviously the iranian source has their own agenda. they don't even try to hide it; their mission statement explicitly says it is run by their government to give their point of view so yeah.

and looking at the history there the iranians might want to make the sunni regime look bad for their own thing

so i search the web for western sources

http://www.granma.cu/ingles/internation ... onarq.html

hey cuba is in the west right?
The same media which is exacerbating what is occurring in Syria is silent when it comes to passing judgment on allies of the United States.

[...]
Why has this case not been discussed in the UN Security Council? [...]

Analyst Pepe Escobar states that there was a tacit agreement between the House of Saud and the White House, along the lines of, "You invade Bahrain, we’ll give you an Arab resolution which will allow you to go to the UN and then launch the NATO humanitarian bombing of Libya."

[...]
Why is such a small island so important to Washington?

In 2002, the U.S. giant designated the kingdom "a very important non-NATO ally." At the same time, in March of 2008, the Al Khalifa regime became the first Arab country to conduct joint naval maneuvers with the United States. It is not coincidental that the U.S. 5th Fleet is based in Bahrain and will be the hub of any future U.S. military action in the Gulf. It has already given logistical support as a base in the Iraqi wars, and to missions in Afghanistan.

Simply stated, the United States cannot afford to lose Bahrain.

well shit

but anyway where the fuck is the bbc?

search "bahrain rebellion bbc"

first result
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-shepp ... -rebellion

BBC's Katty Kay: Obama Doesn't Want Media To Report Bahrain Rebellion

christ

well there is a bbc link that pretty much confirms the facts the iranian source gave as a timeline

2012 January - US criticises Bahrain over its crackdown on ongoing protests.

whatever next result

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12755852
march 2011
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she was alarmed by developments in Bahrain.

"We deplore the use of force against demonstrators, and we deplore the use of force by demonstrators. We want a peaceful resolution," she said in an interview with the BBC in Cairo.

contrast that to her (and the us media's) ridiculously one sided talk about syria where it is all assad being the asshole and we want regime change

well at least the bbc says SOMETHING even if it is relatively very little

what about cbs?

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-501713_162- ... niversary/
feb 2012
U.S. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said Tuesday the Bahraini government and the opposition "have a responsibility, both of them, to work together to ensure that the right to peaceful protest is respected by all sides."

Nuland also called on the demonstrators to refrain from violence and urged Bahraini security forces to "use maximum restraint" during peaceful protests.
"both of them"

interesting how most of it is still just us government sources

hey that hunger strike guy mentioned by the AP!

http://www.cbs3springfield.com/story/17 ... to-denmark

anyway i fucking hate the media

especially in the west

it is a tool of imperialism

ADR, it was a topic of discussion for me last week, but then, I was just a few miles away, so I'm not sure how domestic media is handling it.

There might be something on the gulf times website.

I laughed when you actually did that. It's too bad that Flagg is one of the many tryhards on that forum that lace their posts with expletives to get brownie points. Complaining about that in this thread is not off topic. If you want to ban me again and further reveal your cowardice, be my guest.

Cowardice? He said right in the thread.

That aside, I'd appreciate it if you two would stop bickering, if I want pointless arguments, I'll go to SDN.
