Hmm, I've suddenly got a mind to try to attempt a Johnny Bravo costume for halloween, except my pompadour would be literally two feet tall and red. I already have plenty of tight black shirts and a pair of sunglasses
Maybe I can be his fictional gay stoner brother Jimmy Bravo...

I suggest you dye your hair blonde. Pretty sure there's temp dyes that won't damage your natural color and will wash out.Einhander Sn0m4n wrote:Hmm, I've suddenly got a mind to try to attempt a Johnny Bravo costume for halloween, except my pompadour would be literally two feet tall and red. i normally post damn.gif but this needs some kind of touchdown dance where at the end when he spikes the ball and the universe explodes

because :

2/ http://testingstan.arsdnet.net/forum/vi ... 635#p33635
and given the senate is the only hidden forum on this board that I know of, it naturally went there

Re: Testing Chat Thread
I think I might owe you guys a new bus for that. I think the one down in the ditch is now on fire.
Re: Testing Chat Thread
so you know what's interesting to me
if you are riding a bicycle with someone else, and the other guy sucks your wheel (drafts you) the whole time, you get annoyed with him for not taking the lead and blocking the wind for you from time to time; it doesn't feel fair
...but the alternative is for you both to ride alone, and if you are riding alone, obviously you're going to be eating your own wind all the time anyway
so the freeloader isn't actually costing you anything
(indeed even a wheel sucker benefits you slightly; someone in your slipstream changes some aerodynamic pressure bullshit making your job easier as well.... so the freeloader actually is contributing)
in a competitive environment being annoyed with someone glued to your wheel is rational because that means he's saving his energy to beat you to the finish line
but in a casual environment it is silly. you aren't actually losing anything
yet the annoyance is still there
at least among the people i know
the human mind is a funny thing

Re: Testing Chat Thread
I dunno, sounds kind of dangerous
what if the guy behind you loses traction & skids into you?
what if you need to brake suddenly?

Re: Testing Chat Thread
yea but if you're both reasonably experienced that's rather rare
accidents still happen of course, but the annoyance feeling comes far more from the feeling of freeloading than from the danger

Re: Testing Chat Thread
also the leader is in a little less danger anyway
road hazards would affect both of you
but in the lead, if the other guy goes down, you can keep going
whereas if you're the follower and the leader goes down, you're at high risk of rear ending him, going down yourself

Re: Testing Chat Thread
a fun fact though in NASCAR close drafting was either disallowed or strictly regulated (i don't really follow it in detail) until 2010
the reason is if two cars bump anything other than just right, at 190 miles per hour, both of them are liable to lose control and it won't be pretty for anyone in the area
(this is something i both liked and hated when i tried gran turismo 5 on the playstation three: it simulated this pretty realistically, and i'd crash a LOT on the super speedways from the most minor of taps)
but they recently relaxed that rule, so now you see cars racing in pairs, almost if not actually touching. takes a lot of driving skill, but if you can do it, that same aerodynamic stuff works: both vehicles get a little speed and fuel efficiency boost
