the stuff in it about the norks using an EMP weapon? They are literally using the exact same plot as Homefront. Ripping off one of the most bland and tasteless video games i've ever played does not endear me to this movie.
Considering they already made Battleship into a movie, this is not in fact a new low for Hollywood. Sadly.

Again: Battleship.

Better than a remake, set it during an alien invasion, and a bunch of kids inspired by the original movie Red Dawn, start calling themselves the WOLVERINES and do the same thing to them wats wez did to the Ruskies!
And the end of the movie the Earth is depopulated because what did you think a bunch of kids could do.
Oh shit falling skies is already kinda doing that but differently similar.
What I can't figure out is how they're going to give this movie a happy ending. I mean, they say that EMPs (or whatever they call the superweapon) wiped out US infrastructure prior to the invasion and it would seem that El Presidente and all leadership was taken out in a decapitation operation (again, going by the basic of the trailer).
So, when the Wolverines are in their most dire moment, backs to the wall and ready to face death, who will magically appear to save them? Will it be the Canuckistani army rolling South in the name of liberation and maple syrup?
Will it be a magically hidden super-American-robot-army that appears from out of fucking no where?

I fully expect that the US ARMY/MARINES/COASTGUARD will magically appear to deliver a winning blow to the war in suburban Washington state at the exact moment when the teens are in the deepest peril.
But man, how good would it be for this movie to end with the Wolverines getting taken out by a North Korean drone because they were congregating and thus were clearly terrorists?

That would be pretty funny if the Coast Guard saved the day. Not as funny as if it were the mighty NOAA Corps, though.

Isn't that pretty much what happened in the original? They didn't all die but pretty much. If it weren't for that little bit with the memorial it would've been a downer ending.
So I find myself wanting to do something more interesting and meaningful than my current job, but part-time minimum wage gigs are basically all i'll be able to get until I finish school.
Maybe I should just join the army like my friend dave. At least it'd be interesting.

I thought about joining the army once. Then I realized I had a severe allergic reaction to bullets.
