I'll open the bal :

This weekend, I bought new shoes - classy ones, because I was tired of going to work everyday in hiking shoes. Today, I decide to wear them for the first time.

When I leave the house, it's chilly and overcast, but there's no rain or anything and the ground is dry.

Come 9am, bam! Snow out of fucking nowhere. 10 centimeters of the stuff everywhere in the streets.

Fuck you too, weather.
No.

Processing $220,000 worth of invoices split up over more than a thousand lines and it crashed my system when I hit 'post'.

Good thing I made notations on the remittance as I went; only took ten minutes the second time through rather than the 2.5 hours it had consumed the first time. And they said this new system was supposed to be stable.

Also I remember seeing the clip for this when I was about seven and feeling vaguely uncomfortable about the notion that she was sleeping with that cartoon anthropomorphic cat. And in hindsight, was that my first racist thought?

Does this mean the next lament thread will be Live Free or Cry Hard, or are we going to move onto a new shtick?

You know what I hate with formal letters ?

Having to write bullshit expressions like "yours truly" or "yours faithfully"

when I don't think any of it.

I hate having to write things that contradict what I think just because it's the required social norm and I'm not a rude bastard.

Well, we have the largest population the planet has ever seen right now, right?

When we bump into whatever natural or manufactured apocalypse that causes massive die-off, do you think it's safe to say we hit "Peak People", and therefor Peak Lament ??? ???

I think it's more likely that the per-capita lament output will increase through technological innovation environmental pressure.

Probably sooner than that. There may be a practical limit to how much lament you can extract from a given well person no matter how much pressure you apply.

The trick would be to determine where the population and lament output curves would intersect.

I guess there's only one way to find out.:godwin: :science:

I hate mixed signals from dates. My sore throat probably didn't help matters much, but at least she did say to call her?

Man, losing two hours of salary for a five minutes delay. Goddamn teacher.

Fuck that shit.

edit / update : we came to an agreement. I will not be noted as absent for the two hours and thus will be paid.

Doesn't stop that I lost two hours of class because of that. It's not as of I really needed them (english class) but that's still quite annoying on the principle of the matter.
