I'm a resident of Orange County (the one on the left), so LAX is my o/d airport. I avoid John Wayne like the plague.

If possible, when going overseas I prefer going LAX-FRA-(???), and not just because I like Lufthansa's international service. This time, I was just going to Frankfurt, and was doing some rather complicated connections to get the widest window in the city that I could over a weekend.

I desperately wanted to avoid DC this weekend, but the last plane in from Frankfurt to the US that lands in time for me to get to LA same day is the FRA-IAD at 5.

So I've got an IV in me right now. I'm bugging out about it. This shit is not how I ever imagined it being.

There was a bunch of blood where blood ought not be. I'm young, fit, and mostly healthy so I don't think it could be anything really threatening. Probably. I went to the hospital more as a precaution than anything else.

But this IV plug. Do. Not. Like.
I hate needles and I hate blood and I hate having my skin broken open and this is all three.

How different is it from giving your blood ?

Very. When I did the CT scan you could feel this snake through your blood stream. It's god damn awful. And they left the shunt in my entire time here. So super uncomfy.



Apparently I probably have Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's diseases. A mild case but one which stress and travel can exacerbate. Gonna get Seen by a specialist next week.

Yeah, IV's are a lot different than just a needle putting in a substance or taking out blood. You have all the time in the world to look at it, feel it, and let your mind grow ever more not-okay with a sharp piece of steel being inside your body.

...that and when my IV got a clog under my skin, it was one of the worst forms of pain I had ever felt in my life.

i liked having an iv in the hospital, since the queer feeling of spending days not eating or drinking but still feeling nutritionally satisfied was novel and fun

but from one of my roommates who had a basement suite and spent a couple days one time lugging an iv around the house, that seemed like the opposite of fun

The IV itself ain't bad, but the constant fear you'll bang it on something and dislodge it, and then the sensation when it does happen....yuck. There is something very wrong with feeling a tug on your body from inside your body.

IV's are a piece of cake. Then again I had them for 6 weeks straight when I was in the hospital in FL. It was funny, for a straight month any time I'd get out of bed or off the couch afterwards I'd reach for an IV pole.

Seems like Demo Reel may be done with, from the video he made. Wonder what'll become of the actors.

Man can you imagine those meetings they have where they look at the ad revenue numbers from pirate youtube blip and it's like "WE'RE NOT SCREAMING AT BAD MOVIES ENOUGH!"

I've been watching Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy a bit recently. That final montage, set to La Mer is just amazing.

I hope that they do a sequel.

That sucks for Doug I guess. After all the big talk to about NC being artisitically finished with an so on. To have to go back to it. Wonder what this means for their studio.

I hope that it goes ahead. I noticed that they specifically didn't describe Karla, as he clearly hasn't been cast yet.

Well they're using it for other shows. According to Mike Michaud on the SA forums the studio wasn't meant for Demo Reel in the first place, they just used it for that. I wonder what'll happen to the other actors, myself.

I feel bad for him too, really. I mean if he really does in fact have the drive to do more NC and it was just burnout before, more power to him. But if he is having to do it because of fan pressure or whatever, well, that blows. Doug Walker seems like a pretty legit good guy so I'm hoping that whatever ends up happening it works out for him.
