Re: The Glue Factory
so the tricky thing is that rei is a person with extremely suppressed emotions
and the cast of FiM have character traits all over the place
i think the best you could do is maybe a modified version of twilight sparkle

And Applejack would be Toji, who originally punched Shinji in the face, accusing him of being responsible of his sister being in the hospital.
Rarity would be Kensuke, the bespectacled nerd who is friend with Toji.
And Pinkie Pie would be Misato

Supposedly, it's a three-part, with the next two parts being next seasons' opening episodes.
No.
Re: The Glue Factory
I liked that episode. Some great songs (Twilight's sad song especially, damn it Hasbro release a soundtrack already!) and I thought the plot moved along well enough without feeling too horribly rushed.
Can't wait for season 4 to get here.

Re: The Glue Factory
that was pretty great
much, much better than I thought it would be (I was never in the THIS IS THE END OF DAYS camp, but I was a little bit... doubtful on whether the writers could pull it off well)
It's great that they're willing to change up the status quo like that, it gives me hope that the CMC might someday get their cutie marks

...but whatever happens, the writing staff have definitely proved themselves once again
Re: The Glue Factory
Even knowing the outcome, I enjoyed the anticipation through the episode of the mane event. Twilight's look of shock at this brave new world she'd found herself in was right on the money and expressed hope, fear, and a sense of wonder all in one.

Re: The Glue Factory
What the hell was that? Why are people saying it was awesome here? Twilight fucks up. Sings about it. Undoes her fuck up while singing. Randomly becomes an alicorn, gets crowned, sings some more.
there's no story there. There's a bunch of songs tying together random shit. There's nothing wrong with Twilight become an alicorn (though the princess thing raises so many question) but the execution I found terrible.
Definitely should have been a two parter at the very least.

Re: The Glue Factory
Well yes, i figure a more accurate question would be 'why do people think it was awesome?'

Re: The Glue Factory
It was different, being an almost all musical episode. And each of the songs were highly enjoyable and plot relevent (which is a key thing for why Winter Wrap Up is one of my favorite musical numbers) and it just felt like a good story and them handling Twilight as an alicorn in a good way (the Elements of Harmony playing a key role and all). And continuity porn, which is always nice.Crazedwraith wrote:Well yes, i figure a more accurate question would be 'why do people think it was awesome?'
I mean sure, could it have benefited from being a two-parter? Yes it would have. But like the Discord episode, they did what I think was the best they possibly could have with the time they had to work in. I don't know whether the decision of how many parts comes from production or Hasbro though, so if they had the choice of a two-parter I think they should have done so. But if it's Hasbro's call then I'm not going to fault the cast and crew for it.
As I've said elsewhere they've made this a season of change, both with Twilight herself and in general (giving a slightly more serialized take on it, altering the status quo, the episode-during-another-episode aspect of Just For Sidekicks/Games Ponies Play, etc) and did an excellent job with it all, despite only having half a season to work with. So really I think this episode kinda speaks as to what they managed with season 3 as a whole: not an ideal circumstance but they did the best they could have, I think.
Anyway that's why I feel it was so awesome. Especially Twilight's sad musical number because I can't say enough about that and whereas previously I would give Rarity's songs top spot as far as individual songs go, Twilight just took number one this weekend.
