After hearing a classmate's anecdote yesterday, I think it would be best if we all abandoned the term "retard."Flagg wrote:You really are a fucking retard.evilsoup wrote:that might have salvaged that film

Yes, we should.
Almost a week of a couple hours of sleep a night. I like to think I'm a mellow guy but if that fucking asshole next door idles his redneck mobile again while I'm trying to nap then hes going to find it coated in dogshit.
God damn I'm tired.

Ahnold's mere presence was enough to make his batman film the best entry in the various batman adaptations
(well, the Brave and the Bold was pretty great too)

From what I remember about her little brother, he has a learning disorder. His teacher called him a retard and he came home crying.Stofsk wrote:What was the anecdote?

I reserve the right to use the term in extreme circumstances.

Re: The Testing Chat III: The Time of Great Chatting
What's the deal with "receipt in the bag or with you?" Who even cares? And besides, if you put it in the bag and I wanted it in my hand... I'll just take it out of the bag! I'm far more annoyed at being asked the question over and over again than I would be by they getting it wrong.
But I have a solution: someone should commission a study to find people's preference in general, and then automatically use it.

Quicker to ask, too many old people will complain while in line that they can't find their reciept.adr wrote:What's the deal with "receipt in the bag or with you?" Who even cares? Re: The Testing Chat III: The Time of Great Chatting
Fun fact: idiot, moron, retard, halfwit, dumb, etc. are all medical terms used legitimately to refer to someone with a learning disorder at some point or another.
So it is literally impossible to call anybody anything but 'stupid' if you want to insult their intelligence, if we listen to the PC brigade.
Obv. solution: Accept that 'retard' is an insult and pick a new word to refer to people with learning disabilities so that people can stop getting their fucking gender-nonspecific panties in a knot every time somebody uses it.

So no just shut up.
Re: The Testing Chat III: The Time of Great Chatting
One day "retard" will be the new "faggot" and I won't use it. Until then I reserve my right to use it on idiots like Batman. And others. In rare circumstances anyway.
Re: The Testing Chat III: The Time of Great Chatting
I don't think stuff like "idiot" and "moron" are proper medical terms or really associated with medical conditions in most people's mind's anymore though. Their useage in the language has evolved to the point where they've basically lost their "real" meanings and just mean stupid. "Retard" is different because the association with medical conditions in the living language is stronger.RyanThunder wrote:Fun fact: idiot, moron, retard, halfwit, dumb, etc. are all medical terms used legitimately to refer to someone with a learning disorder at some point or another.
