Thanks guys. The cake was delicious.

Also the doctor has tripled my painkiller dosage (woo codeine) so I am outragously chill at the moment.

My Windows 8 internet link is acting all weird, with app tiles needing the internet to function not functioning and HP server seems to be temporarily busted (yet the Internet Explorer and Chrome in the more functional desktop section is working fine).

Well I hate the planet and everyone on it, so... Did you know he claimed that he had a special connection to blacks because he's "white trash" insinuating that all black people are garbage?

Travel tip to those who would go to France :

If you travel by train and have to change train station at Paris, NEVER, EVER, under any circumstances as long as you c1n help it, have less than one hour, one hour and a half between the scheduled arrival time of your first train and the departure of your next.

Also, buy the metro tickets in the train during the travel. It'll save you precious, precious minutes.

Trust me, it's the second time I have to literally run in order not to miss my train in Paris. Had a scheduled timespan between arrival and departure of 50 minutes, the train arrived 6 minutes late in Paris, then I had to wait another 6 minutes for the next metro as the first one was choke full (and the following one too but I couldn't afford not to catch it).

Stressful is an understatement to qualify the experience. And I have the advantage of already knowing the way by heart, so I don't lose a heartbeat trying to find where I need to go.

That was my travel advice for today. Oxy out.

Because it's totally about my lack of interest in the show and nothing at all to do with people rushing to defend what he said and blame it on "libs"/gays/blacks/muslims/pc losers/whoever for being overly sensitive to "The Truth"?

Quebec sounds like you're either going to experience a half-arsed version of France or a half-arsed version of Canada. Either way, it's going to be a compromised experience.

The stories I've heard of the Quebecois leaves me wary that the proportion of assholes might be bigger in their population. I am unsure whether this might be truth or propaganda from the vile Anglo-Saxons.

Or I get both a Canadian and French experience for the price of one trip? :fukyu:

Yeah maybe in the same way that a trip to Outback Steakhouse is like a trip to Australia.

Or like saying that a trip to Sydney is a trip to Australia.

That's just silly.

Now, learning about Australian culture by watching Crocodile Dundee movies, on the other hand, is far more plausible.

The most you'll learn about Australian culture is from Romper Stomper.

Anti-lament: my Hi-Fi setup got delivered today, and it's top-notch.

It's currently just an amplifier and a set of speakers, but considering I almost always use my computer as the only audio input, this is not a problem in any way.

First time ever I use SPDIF connections (digital-signal-through-coaxial), but it works so far. I just had to fumble with the settings of the amplifier a bit, but now there's no problem.

For those interested in the setup itself:
Amplifier: Marantz PM6005 (€499)
Speakers: 2 x Boston Acoustics A26 (€250)

Total : €749

I done wore myself out.

I took a long walk today with my ruck sack and 10% of my body weight to start retraining my feet and muscles for hiking. I went to the hardware store for supplies and I've been moving wood and what not back and forth around my shop to make cuts, to make glue-ups, etc. Individually none of those is so bad, but over and over and over (and coupled with the ruck walk) and I feel fatigued.

But it's that oh-so-good, satisfying fatigue, not the please-kill-me-now-just-so-I-can-rest kind.

That's the best kind. And easily fixed with a hot bath.
