So yeah. It wasn't a joke. Marvel really is making a goddamn Ant-Man movie. I mean Guardians is risky enough, but a guy who's powerset is limited to shrinking and communicating with ants?
To say nothing of the fact that the thing Hank Pym is most known for among modern comic fans is wife-beating.
I think we can officially predict when the MCU will jump the shark.

Has it still got Edgar Wright attached? Could still be fun.

Last I heard they were basing it on the second Antman, who was an irreverent jackass who stole the Ant-suit in the first place to get rich, rather than Hank Pym, Science Misogynist.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
When I first heard about it I figured it'd be a half-decent, if rather pointless movie, since my first real exposure to Ant-Man was the cartoon Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. There they actually manage to make him likeable instead of a giant douchebag, and somehow manage to make his powerset not completely useless, though they do include the Giant-Man powers as well.
Then I went online and looked up the character in the regular 616 and Ultimate universes, and given the amount of influence the Ultimate line has on the MCU, I don't have much hope for what they'd do with the character.

Wait... there's actually a super hero called Antman?
I thought it was a parody or something.

Well SB appears to have gone away for the time being. It isn't even responding to pings.
So DMCA takedown again, or hardware failure.

The ultimate line isn't used to the extent they use the asshole ultimate characterisations though.Darksi4190 wrote: Then I went online and looked up the character in the regular 616 and Ultimate universes, and given the amount of influence the Ultimate line has on the MCU, I don't have much hope for what they'd do with the character.

"Second Empire" is completing its epilogue, and all I can say is that the final is pretty fucking awesome.

The #spacebattles channel topic is currently FUCK TOUCANS which is quite amusing to me.

Apparently, in addition to failing to provide enough bandwidth or whatever causes their usual outages, their provider is a total rollover when it comes to DMCA notices.
So basically the SB server sucks donkey balls pretty much all around.

So my cousin just had a baby, and everybody in my family is cooing over the damn thing like its the most interesting thing in the world. I mean she doesn't really do much, just cries and smiles every once and a while.
I guess I just don't get it. I mean i'm sure i'll have a great relationship with her when she's in her teens and i'm "cool uncle matt," but right now she's just not that interesting.

I do not understand this descriptor "cute," that you utilize.
Please elaborate.

They're not so cute when their diaper explodes and you have to clean it up.

My cousin is insisting on using re-usable cloth diapers, so they can carry them on from baby to baby.
Makes good economic sense I guess.......

They're more interesting when they're yours
Also when you have three kids of your own and your friend then has one and suddenly he's an expert about babies it's somewhere between amusing an irritating.

Re: Testing Chat V: The Final Mysterious Island: Miami Beach
I've none of my own, but there's 10 amongst my friends. One of which I was all but a second father to during the first two years of her life. So I'm an exception to the rule that the guy with no kids is talking out his ass.
I'm only doing that like half the time.
3/5's tops.
