Norton products are fundamentally useless, and windows 8.1 comes built in with antivirus. If it's not taking care of it, create a boot disc of some other antivirus like malware bytes or avast, or just download Hiren's Boot CD and burn that.

We checked up the Windows firewall, but the Norton system set up its own firewall (and doing a rubbish job of it). I could likely decontaminate my Chrome if I uninstall and reinstall it, but I feel I'm hopelessly trapped with the bugged to buggery, crash happy Explorer 11.

On Saturday, I rear ended someone on the way to a job interview. The guy had a bike rack on the back and it fucked up my front end, but not enough to total it. I ended up getting the job later that day, though.

The reason for this post is not because I crashed my car, but because I am driving a rented 2014 Impala. It's shit. The only positive is that it handles well. It has awful fuel economy, it's too big, your blind spots are worse, the dash has too much going on, and the radio is an inefficient touch screen. It sucks. If I was rich I'd total that piece of shit deliberately.

Reinstalling a browser usually doesn't get rid of that kind of stuff. Try running these on it:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/downloa ... oval-tool/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/tdsskiller/

I find that the first two are pretty good at cleaning out malicious browser add-ons, with the third to make sure that it's not a rootkit that's hijacking the browser.

Wouldn't hurt to run Malwarebytes on it, too, if you haven't already.

But yeah, as joviwan said, Norton is barely any better than having no antivirus at all. It's right up there with McAfee in the realm of complete and utter uselessness.

Make sure you've got microsoft security essentials; some PCs have it pre-installed, but it's free regardless.

He mentioned the laptop is 8.1, so it technically won't run MSE. They rebranded it as Windows Defender and included it in the OS. It looks similar, but I've noticed that it gives you less control than MSE did. Don't know how effective it is, though, since I avoid 8 like the Plague.

Is it wrong I get slightly misty-eyed whenever "Farewell to Dobby" from HP7P1 comes across my playlist?

Nope. It's a well done scene in the movie. I just wish non book readers saw more development of him.

1798$ for four all weather tires, four rims and four of those stupid tire pressure sensors.

Did that include fitment? It'd want to at $450 a corner. What does 'all weather' mean exactly? Surely they're not studded?

2012 Toyota Tacoma, 4x4 etc.

Yeah it includes fitting. All weather is apparently a snow rated all season type.

No studs.

Anyways why new rims? Did you find it on bricks one morning as one of your chickens counted a suspicious roll of cash?

lol no.

We're keeping the current tires and rims for summer and we'll be using the new ones in winter. Last winter was brutal and I'm not fucking around any more. Especially as the highway we're off doesn't get plowed often enough.

So apparently Kraftwerk is going to do a concert run in Paris in November. I wonder if I should go watch it?

My experience has been that if you're wondering whether you should go to a particular concert the answer is probably "Yes."

Well, it's not as if I've listened to more than Trans-Europe Express or Radioactivity.

But yeah, maybe it'd be worth going to see it if only for bragg8ng rights. Depending on the price, of course.

Price can definitely be the wild card. But you don't want to miss out on an experience and then regret it later.

After a quick look...

Man they are such monsters.

From the 6th to the 14th of november included, they'll each night play one of their 8 album.

So if you want the whole experience you have to go to the concert every nights for a week.
No.
