Y'all can always try not going to TOB. It's worked wonders for my mood, productivity and blood pressure.

And Bounty is right, I'm a hell of a lot happier since I left.

Re: Godammed SDN
Splendid, splendid.
A work colleague of mine who is former RAR and has suggested with a straight face that he is the shooter in this picture* intends to take me out for a shoot of his .270, which he promises will be the most accurate piece of kit I will ever lay hands on. It'll be hard to tell seeing as the last bolt action I shot was a hot-loaded .22 magnum a few years ago, and everything since has been pistols or lever Winchester clones(I personally wouldn't describe .44 as 'flat shooting')
*he agreed that it would be remiss of me not to be skeptical when it is the second google hit for 'Australian sniper' and left it at that

I hear good things about .270 but I've not tried it. Bit of a traditionalist when it comes to calibres.

Re: Godammed SDN
I am giving serious consideration to getting a Rossi Ranch Hand in .44mag or .45lc and having a regular stock put on.
Which gives me grizz stopping power with a 12.5 barrel, great bush gun.

Colt M1911timmy wrote:Ohhh game time list ALL the firearms you can remember having used
AR-15
Some type of shotgun (don't remember the model) for trap shooting
And technically a .58 Enfield musket, but that doesn't count because it was for reenacting, and reenacting is as close to handling a firearm as masturbation is to sex.

I'm thinking of taking Sam to the shooting range in Homebush as a surprise outing. Is firing a rifle fun if you're not really a gun nut?

Yup. Everyone I take always has fun.

Re: Godammed SDN
That's what my rifle is. The only problem I ever had with it was when I bought a box soft-nosed bullets. Problem went away as soon as I switched back.Aaron wrote:I hear good things about .270 but I've not tried it. Bit of a traditionalist when it comes to calibres.
Anyway, here's what I've fired:
Single shot .410
Winchester pump action 20 gauge (Firing 3 in magnums)-this was my shotgun when I was growing up, still have it
Winchester Super X2 semi-auto 12 gauge (Can fire up to 3 1/2 in super magnums)-this is my shotgun now and, I tell you, those super magnums kick like a damn mule
.22 bolt action rifle
.22 semi-auto rifle
Remington 700 in .270 Win-my rifle
.44 magnum revolver
.45 ACP H&K USP-my sidearm

nothing like trying to shoot a gun with poor eyesight
Re: Godammed SDN
Yeah 12ga kicks bad even with regular loads. Glad I put that sureshot on my 870.
And yeah, bad eyes make for a lousy time.

Well when the shell you're firing is 27% longer than a standard one. It was a turkey load and... damn.
Re: Godammed SDN
That's something I just can't do, 3inch buckshot and slugs are at the limit of what my wrist can take.

as soon as someone busts out obvious trolling- bam! you've got to carefully censor yourself not to write swears in threads.
This is your one and only warning. If you want to shit this thread up I will happily HOS it. Lets pretend that N&P has standards. You could have phrased that any number of ways. But you chose the most inflammatory way possible while making almost no argument.Destructionator XIII wrote:He was a piece of shit who contributed to the harmful consumerism of humanity to line his own pockets with other people's work.
Taken too soon? Fucking please, if this rich asshole hadn't exploited his way up the capitalist ladder, he'd have been dead years ago, like any common person who got dealt that hand.
General warning to everyone else to. This doesn't need to degenerate. You can make an argument without making it gutter trash. There are creative ways to insult and belittle. Use them.

Miss Manners Does Not Live Here. Do not whine about other people being rude. In particular, do not use someone's rudeness as an excuse to ignore his arguments. However, there are limits. You may be rude, but you may not use racist or homophobic slurs. If you do, you will be summarily banned.
