I don't think I've ever played a Bethesda game that wasn't a festival of bugs

I did get the GOTY edition of fallout 3, so maybe they'd fixed the bugs or something

Yeah but they use the same engine.
FO3 was buggy as shit on release. It's not to bad now but with the GOTY edition it's insanely to get high end weapons a few minutes after leaving the vault, cause it has the Enclave out and about immediately.

I've reduced the resolution from 1920*1080 to 1600*1200 and it crashed only 20 minutes in, and there wasn't any load-screen crash. Progress !
I have all the DLCs and I'm running with the "
Project Nevada" mod.

For the most part, my experience with FONV has been pretty bug free.
However, I've been playing Democracy 2 for the last few days. For $20 on Steam, it's pretty fun. I made a crime free socialist utopia.

€4.74 ? What the hell, purchased.
At worst, that'll be one kebab less.

The console versions universally fucked up the aspect ratio.
It was honestly so bad that I'm inclined not to buy anything from Beth again.

So, Democracy 2...
Everything was going well, I was running my second term at the head of Libertopia, having 67% of popularity and trying to find a way to balance the budget that was begging for mercy because of the global economic downturn and my over-enthusiasm to follow my counselor's advice to reduce taxes the previous term...
... when I got assassinated by patriots, even after putting maximum funding on the intelligence agencies.
How rude.

So, I think I broke Democracy 2.
from a nation with many problems, I created a Socialist Utopia with an approval rating above 90%, I eliminated poverty, my budget is positive and has been for a long time, with reserves above 900 Bn ; and this all because I invested everything in technological innovation and a very strong intelligence agency from the very beginning.
SCIENCE !!

Also, 0% unemployement.
My only problem is cyber-criminality, but it's such a minor problem that it can be ignored.
Gands, is Techno-Eco-Socialism the only way to prevail (in this game) ?

I have only one gripe with the game, it's that the Efficiency, Technological Advantage and GDP cannot go above a certain value. This mean that even when the three should logically continue to sky-rocket, they don't and my incomes stay the same, while the expenses slowly creeps up as the population grow through immigration and there's more retired people and kids to support.
I had to introduce a carbon tax twelve years in in order for my budget to stay positive, and it has bought me less than eight years of respite.
I call bullshit. Given my stats by now everyone should work half and gain twice what they are.

I think they're pushing an agenda with this game.

Well, admittedly I started with what was described as "the most liberal first-world country", so the seeds were already there.
Anyway, apparently one of the playable countries is "The USA". I think this'll be my next challenge once I finish with the current one (challenge : continue to keep the budget balanced for the rest of this term and the next without cutting expenses nor hurting the economy and my poll ratings)

Funny thing is : In almost fifteen years, I didn't increase a single tax (apart from me putting in place the carbon tax). I just concentrated spending on public education and R&D. That was an impressive boost to GDP, which then boosted my incomes. Oh, and also I invested in a very extensive intelligence agency, because I don't even count anymore the number of failed assassination attempt against me they foiled. Silly Patriots...
Funnier thing : more than a third of the people who confess as "capitalist" are loyal members of my Party. Because they like my economic policies.
Even funnier thing : I think I must have pissed-off the religious people really hard because there isn't any single one left in my country.

How much did the defense budget get? Because that's of critical importance in a USA game.

Haven't played the US yet, but in the game I'm talking about, it reached "overwhelming force".
If the Patriots where pissed at me, it's because I was at max investment on foreign aids. Boosting trade was of more importance to me than to satisfy them. Especially when they still voted at 70% for me anyway.

The game is less than 40 MB in size, so you'll be easily able to download it. Oh, and look : DRM-free !
