Metahive really doesn't understand that what he is describing (the "Germans would stand up and revolt if they saw this") is a huge part of the stereotypes about germans (and to a degree, europeans in general):

A) They have a massive stick up their ass
B) They like to look down on everyone one else as "less enlightened"
C) They have no sense of humor (very specific to germans)
D) They are overly politically correct and fussy

What really amuses me is that I know that in general, none of the above (except maybe B a little bit, but there's a grain of truth in that as well) s really true of the europeans I know in real life, but the germans on the internet, boy does it show up.

Metahive and Serafina strike me as being Niles Crane from Fraiser. In this analogy, Thanas is Fraiser (can be a bit stuffy, but has a "normal guy" side, too), and we're all Martin. Maybe the Aussies are Roz...
