Watamote's ending was interesting and oddly more concrete than I thought it would be. I also liked how they sort of embraced the cyclical nature of her problems.

Hey Ford and/or Veef any suggestions for stuff about to air since Free!, Dangans, and Titans all just finished up?

I do not. I didn't see anything interesting on the horizon so I decided to go all the way through Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos

Fall 2013 season is like ...
okay this is my preliminary list
I will definitely be watching KILL la KILL, Kyoukai no Kanata, Kakumeiki Valvrave and Kyousougiga. I will be genuinely trying Coppellion, Samurai Flamenco, Galilei Donna, pupa, Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio, Gundam Build Fighters, Golden Time, Magi and Nagi no Asukara. I will be ironically watching the first episodes of Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai and Walkure Romaze.
There is obviously too much stuff there. Oh no I have too much media to choose from #firstworldproblems
As always check out the chart. Or if you're feeling adventurous, this page of youtube PVs!

I started Extra, but swapping my language stuff to Japanese messes with my news feed so I haven't played it since Meiya transferred in.
it's good to see that AoT is reinvigorating both the giantess and vore fetishes

so I want to talk a bit about the ending to Watamote. The whole episode has been a reflection on the fact that after all of her efforts, things haven't gotten any better, and she starts crying just thinking about how she'll never achieve the popularity she always wanted. Then she goes to school and does some usual Tomoko stuff (there are a couple of ways here in which the episode re-enforces the cyclical nature of her problems by mirroring previous scenes), and at the end of the day after she thinks she's screwed up yet again (in front of senpai who just continues to think she's cute and needs a little help), Tomoko practically sprints home crying while the intro theme plays.
Then we see her alone in her room looking at an article describing "unpopular girl". It's actually identical to like the first scene in which she realizes that she's an unpopular girl and needs to do something about it! Then she sort of giggles to herself, turns to the camera, and basically says "lol who even gives a crap" and goes down to have dinner. It's not clear whether this has happened chronologically after the other events of the series, or whether it's like an "alt-universe" situation or whether the rest of the series was imagined or what, but the clear message is that she's sort of moved past it.
but like, Tomoko does give a crap? I don't think she's even after an unrealistic queen bee situation most of the time, she just (fundamentally) wants people to like her? I'm not sure what being like, "wow I've sure moved on from that petty high-school stuff" means when her petty high-school goals were (ultimately, perhaps not in her mind, hence her difficulty) her trying to achieve the same social situation as everyone else? She hadn't really learned the roots of her unhealthy behaviour so I think this sense of closure is sort of artificial.

Flashbacks to my youth lol
Apparently there is NO REST because the new season is in full swing. I watched Kyokai no Kanata and I quite enjoyed it. I also went to the films last night to see Momo e no Tegami. Eleven years after Jin-Roh, Okiura Hiroyuki returns to the director's chair (though the film has been in production for seven years). It was really great.
