remember guys a single personal anecdote from a smug douchebag means anyone who has difficulty in a vaguely similar situation is suffering from a personal failing

if you tried being less of an insufferable asshole in every one of your posts people probably wouldn't take as much issue with you

You know, picking random posts from this thread and reading them without context is pretty darn funny.

style over substance fallacy concession accepted :troll:
But no, I agree with Los. It's the same thing as the "zero to asshole in three seconds" thing of SDN. And they wonder why not everyone instantly agrees with their oh-so-wise selves about everything.
Protip: immediately calling someone a racist/warmonger/idiot/etc may not cause them to really consider your opinion with an open mind.

It is. I sorted by Author and went back, fuck, Zod, Stark, and I post way too much.

That assumes their goal is to actually communicate and exchange ideas rather than smug posting in a safe place

I work in an office that gives me relatively free reign to do what I like on the internet as long as my job gets done so . . . yeah.
Amusingly despite not having posted for a year on teo I'm still ranked 11th in post count.

Phant piqued my curiosity; I'm a little disturbed to see I'm in the top 25.

How about we bring back the random post count function. Because that makes things much better.

i'd be fucked
I wonder if humanity, as a whole, kind of fucked everything up when we opted to develop agriculture.

Yeah good call
Anyway nobody believe in democracy the sy America says they do
Democratic systems just inhibit static systems from developing by having it be more open
That's all
That's why efforts to close the system though corrupt media and culture war are direct attacks on the weakness of democracy which is its greatest strength
In short people who want better stronger faster governments pretty much always really want more control
Or stupid joke suggestions like LOL AT RANDOM IM SO DUMB I CNAT SEE HOW THIS SYSTEM WOULD BE TRIVISLLY CO OPTED AND SIMOLY RESULT IN LESS ACOCUNTABILITY

well we've had politicians lying to promote wars that have killed at least hundreds of thousands, who have never and will never be held accountable, it's not like politicians are really held to account anyway
outside of outright corruption which is a wider issue anyway that can affect democratic institutions,
how could it be easily co-opted? (also please remember I'm only suggesting this as a replacement for the house of lords, who can't propose laws only suggest amendments to bills)

No I'm not going to remember shit
The idea is fucking stupid and if you think it will have positive outcomes you're going to have to explain how beyond hurf durf I'm a moron
And sorry I find your 'current system bad so let's just go full retard' argument appallingly childish
Just tell me which of your idiot websites or friends suggested it so I can laugh directly into their face
I mean when you say politicians are not held to account I can't find words to express how fundamentally wrong you are

There was more going on in Return of the Jedi than "Its a trap!". but the internet would suggest otherwise.
