Course it could just be that they're trying to figure out how to save his ass from himself and make sure he doesn't have to suffer any real consequences from his words. But since Hayworth's office has been mum about it who knows?

You're probably right. If he comes out relatively clean then the politician he works for is less likely to get hit by any splatter.
