Yeah, I can write that in about four or so hours.
It's pretty sweet.

Don't the midterms have the same Tuesday rule?
So there should be at least one for you.

Nothing interesting will occur until the next Senate elections, or John Boehner grows a spine, which ain't gonna happen. I doubt the House will go Demo in two years; this was nearly a 50/50 presidential election, 30/50 state governors are "Republican," and by and large Americans hate one party controlling all three parts of the gubmint.

Even a House flip would only mean two parts until one of the right-wingers on the Supreme Court keels over (unless you really think Antonin Scalia will retire lol) and is replaced, giving a slim majority. But the House should be more Democratic than it is- NC sent 9 R 4 D when by the numbers voting it should be 6 R 7 D. Gerrymander means that although Democrats won a majority of votes nationwide and should have roughly 219 or 220 seats right now. Or fuck, look at Michigan's
9th, 13th, and 14th Districts!

Tbh, if the Green Party and the other third parties were smart, they wouldn't focus on the presidential race at all, and focus on school boards and city councils and work their way up from there.

Are you sure they're not doing that already?

Yes. Local politics tend to be far more "conservative' than state or national politics, because the effects are seen locally.

They should. But they don't really have much local infrastructure and that would have to be developed, which would take money and volunteers and all that, which probably explains why Green local candidates are mostly people who identify with the party rather than being supported by it.

It's also a question of finding candidates. It's very difficult to find committed green (or libertarian) party members, much less people willing to give up massive amounts of free time and work inside local political structures for years at a time to try and effect minimal amounts of change.

Well there are people willing to run as independents, surely at least some of those must be close enough that the greens could try and bring them into the fold.

So someone tell me, why can't we put admins or mods on our "foes" list?

so that you can't ignore any announcements or warnings or whatever they decide to post
built into the software apparently
ps i love that apparently you care so much about what i think about you that you're frantically trying to shut me out
that's the adult solution, rather than scrolling whenever you see my name or whatever

I do a lot ofbrowsing from my phone, and putting flag and chalk on my Block list makes scrolling over them more convenient.I can always expand their posts if I want to see what they're on about.

I hadn't thought about that, actually. I'd be willing to set up multiple accounts like what adr has if people want that.

i read a thing a couple days ago saying the ron paul rLOVEution might actually get the last laugh on 2012. audit the fed is now like a thing and there could be more of that to come
the reasoning is that the Republican party is likely going to have to realign itself to rebuild their electoral chances, since their current strategy is being beaten by demographics and shit.
and if they could have gotten more ron paul supporters on board, they might have even won it now
so if the republican party were to follow the libertarian line on some issues they might be able to carve out a support base to crush the democrats again in this changing america
now will it happen? idk, the author of the article said probably not but it could.
this is something the third parties like: draw enough attention to their issues that one of the major parties will absorb it. they don't actually expect to win anything for themselves, but instead hope to change the national conversation
so we'll see
BTW i saw this on a sign: "Libertarians just whipped out their Johnson!"

Clearly you are responsible for altering the global climate. We must lock you up in a secret facility and perform horrible experiments on you, so we might use this power to offset climate change.
