so
i come downstairs
and mention how i'm wanting to go to montreal for race weekend in a month
but it's kinda pricey so i'm rethinking it
mind, this would be my first trip anywhere since graduating university
when i started school years ago it was agreed i would go travelling after graduating
things happen
anyway she says
'shouldn't you be studying for your LSAT?'
which i'm thinking of writing in the fall
then she doesn't understand why i'm a little bothered by her insinuation i shouldn't take a weekend off after working 6 months in the hellpit that is the legislature, after working all those years to get a degree, and working insanse hours every summer
with very few vacations anywhere, none outside of the continent or family visits

Or maybe stop giving a shit about what your family thinks? If you make career choices because of familial influences, you aren't an adult. Break off and do what you want to do.

Yeah, well, that was the 90s, when the pairings made some vague kind of sense. Have you seen the recent Sailor Moon stuff? Now it's all just "Let's throw these two characters who don't even interact together" and shit. Let alone any of the other nonsense.
But hey, Janeway as megalomaniac is, I read somewhere, how Mulgrew played the character.

I hate my roommate.
She can't fucking clean up the kitchen worth a damn, has no qualm leaving her shit out to rot for a month, threw out our garbage can because she thought it was too dirty, when she first moved in and used up the last of the toilet paper she threw out both the empty roll and the roll holder so I had to fish it out of the trash and put it back in. Since then she just puts a new roll of toilet paper on top of the empty roll because fuck if she'll try to figure out how a spring works.

She's leaving at the end of the month. I'm probably going to try and find a new place too.
And, like, I don't know. I was tolerant at first because she's an exchange grad student from China
but I lost all patience when I came back from tournament and found a puddle in the center of the kitchen. The sink had sprung a leak but she kept using it anyway and didn't bother to call the landlord.

No, I've been dating people on and off but I haven't been in a serious relationship in about a year now.

You joke, but it is a minor holy war over; Copper Category 5e/6/7 cabling and the dozen different fibre connections which can carry the ethernet protocal

Yeah, we're on a 5, the other agency who moved in uses 6. And so when they moved in, they rewired part of the building to their standard. Now as part of a joint project they have to place some PCs in another section of the office and were told by my managers "It's OK, Anders will sort that out" while I was on leave of course.
So I come back and am having to explain to everyone what "Anders will sort that out" looks like.

man, a kid i knew from my catholic high school came out as trans to me today
at this point the number of trans people (and queers in general) i knew from that school - which only had around ~800 students from all grades combined when i went there - is statistically improbable
like either the number of trans people is vastly under-estimated and as it's becoming socially acceptable young people are coming out much more than ever before*
or they were /really/ successful at teaching us to be the bride of christ
*not actually my belief, entirely a set-up for the bride of christ joke

Well studies into prevalence of it tend to show higher and higher rates over time. Some recent ones that try to extrapolate a bit outside of just looking at GRS rates find 1 in 500 rates, and considering the ratio of trans people who've had GRS to ones who haven't in the circle of people I know is 1 vs dozens, I wouldn't be surprised if the rate's significantly higher than that.

So vitamin b6. Damn. If you want a way to get unbelievably vivid dreams there it is. Funny thing is after upping my b6 intake I feel almost surreally calm.
