So, the ATTN: Rabid Restoration thread was going fine until Red entered the picture. The goddamned block quotes are a nightmare. It didn't help that Fanboy continued that bullshit.

And the culprit is Star Wars, the most least-interesting set of movies discussed in the thread.

Well, I don't think many of you would actively seek out a pretentious art movie like The Tree of Life so we can discuss it. And from what I recall, there's a user there who thinks it's shit. I discuss it there, it would be fun.

The existence of that ATTN: Rabid thread amuses me because just by existing it reveals the baselessness of SDN's smugness. It says something when the better discussion of fiction is taking place in the forum that they look down their noses at as the place for spamposts not good enough for the discerning standards of the main board.

Sort of like how the Armageddon??? and Pantheocide threads being mostly a no-standards hugbox for Stuart while the real criticism thread started in Testing said something.

The funniest thing I read in that thread was stark saying something like "at the risk of sounding like fucking tucker, are there any directors that have movies that are drowning in themes?" That was a good laugh.

my favorite was that while we were discussing deep ass (haha) shit in attn: rabid

over at osf there was the whole "halp me worldbuilding" and all they were talking about were capacitator energon storage capacities and some home schooled kid who leiks tom clancy and wants militury sifi

for me the tragedy was that i never got around to reading the whole thing

i was really busy last semester

and now when i'm finally free of academic responsibilities and the election is done and over and i have free time to kick back and relax and expand my horizons

one of the things i wanted to do was tossed in the shredder

like an unwanted mastercard offer

so i'm looking forward to that thread coming back


i tend to ignore big threads when i can't participate, to come back later and just throw my opinions at it

yeah, i guess i'm letting my bitterness over fatties blind me from the silent non-fatties who are p. cool and deserve nice stuff to read
