That's something even I don't get. It's like they think liking Gundam means you have to stop liking Star Wars, or Star Trek, or 40K or whatever. I'll admit that when I was young and childish I felt the need to "prove" that SW was better than gundam, now I really don't give a shit and I can happily play Gundam games on my PSP while I wait for The Old Republic to load.

tbh, i did have fun times at teo and don't think i wasn't self-aware of being an "in-thing" or of how people regarded me or whatever

then when i started doing real stuff and shit i realized that there was so much stuff out there that i could be doing that i was missing out because of my own deficiencies that limited my perspective and bottled me up in the internet



its like...

for all this time i was a metaphorically wheelchair bound slob enjoying playing wheelchair soccer or something or playing stationary ping pong while sitting down (or just sitting down in front of a computor) in some confined institution and thinking that it was supar awsum

and then suddenly i got out of the cripple-house, stood up and took a long walk in a wide open meadow field free of walls and suddenly sucking in fresh air and listening to birds and shit

realizing what i was missing and what i was actually capable of

and also most horribly realizing that the fault of all those wasted years being a cripple was my own fault

the thing i'm angriest at is pretty much myself (then again, who isn't)



i mean imagine

if i met myself one year ago, i could actually physically mangle myself with my bare hands and my past-self would be completely and utterly incapable - mentally, physically, emotionally, psychologically - of actually protecting himself

he would've been as defenseless as a wheelchair bound cripple

its amazing

this empowerment

i owe a fucklot to all those folks who helped get me to this point

all the extraordinary people who helped me and taught me

i am so spoiled by their presence and humbled

and all the bitter griping shit is useless since i should focus on all the positives

its been a total 180 since last year

i was physically unhealthy and weak in almost all human respects and i pretty much turned it around and the improvements and betterments in myself were awesome and i found out the new things i was doing (which happened to be gaining the ability to stickbeat things, and the other stuff you cited) helped make life worth living and pretty much eclipsed a whole lot of the things i was doing which i realized was actually p. hollow and pointless

like, spending how many hours arguing over hydrocephalic platypus cuckolding animals ultimately results in... nothing

whereas spending hours learning how to defend oneself and punch people in the throat is very rewarding

and yeah

there was also a whole lot of disappointment and frustration in that what i was looking for in fiction and shit, what i realized i gravitated towards to, wasn't really catered by board demographics or whatever and the attn: rabid thread and such were exceptions that proved the rule

i think the attn: rabid thread satisfied me and i was like 'yup, i've had everything this place can offer' and like it allowed me to leave
