I gotten too numb to American shootings, supposedly around a million people in the US has
been killed by firearms since John Lennon's murder (though don't forget they happen in Europe and Britain as well).

DEATH is too inept and rambling to truly dislike, the person I didn't think much of the most on SD.Net was Colonel Orlik.

i like how they have fifty options to quantify where exactly on the scale of inebriation rape occurs

if someone feels raped are they gonna go "nope :engleft: your experience is not backed up by sound internet statistics clearly you cannot be traumatised and the person who had sex with you need not be concerned about the mental state of another human being"

ps that last part is the reason such threads exist

They're just looking for the exact line at which they can turn off their brain, stop caring about the other person, and try to fuck someone worry free.

Instead of, you know, trying to find what works best for all parties. But that requires a lack of extreme self-absorption!

The people who keep chiming in "haha I guess by this standard I've been raped seventy times", I can't tell if they're just trying to take the piss out or if they're actually trying to say "I liked all the sex I had when piss-drunk, so anyone who says otherwise is the aberration"

is this something like 'afraid to lose control'
because I guarantee you'll enjoy it, if you go out with some friends

I was 25 I think the first time I even got so much as tipsy

I was sure for most of my life so far that I wasn't going to ever get drunk since both sides of my family has a history of fighting alcoholism and my mother abstains entirely for that reason, too, but I changed my mind and I think I'm doing well with that

I mean I got puke-and-memory-loss drunk for the first time last week by mistake and my reaction to that was "welp, never doing that again"

I just don't see the appeal, sorry. I've seen often enough what it does to people to know I don't want any of it.

I don't need to get smashed to have a good time with my friends.

And Yes, I -do- drink alcohol.

Simply in small dose and occasionally.

I mean, heck, I have a bottle of 20 years old whiskey in my desk I sip from from time to time.

I'll burn that bridge when I'll cross it.

For now, I don't intend to change that state of affairs.

If the guy doesn't want to get drunk, what's it matter to you.

I mean if he does change his mind later, let it be his own decision?

Definitely, yes. Maybe not as bad as the UK, but it certainly isn't getting better.

It doesn't help that every times I got out and saw my friends drink, they started to act really reckless and stupid, and this killed the mood for me as I had to act like the responsible one.

I hate being the responsible one.

I am pretty sure this isn't the first time he's expressed an opinion on that topic. There was a thread some months back that Spacebattles got in an uproar about involving some town trying to preemptively reduce rape and increase awareness and alot of guys on SB got in an uproar about it for whatever silly reasons. You remember that one at all jung or know which it is?

This is also probably very bad of me, but he acquired the name 'Freethinker' for alot of his odd notions relating to Starcraft (or scifi in general) on the SB vs debates before he.. moved on from there.

As someone who never played any Starcraft game and only has a minimal exposure to the franchise... what does that mean ?

Could be. I dont think he would have gotten along there. He was on SFJ for a time too I think but I think he bailed out of there pretty quick as well.

You're not missing out on much, Oxy. I've gotten shitfaced twice in my life--both lock-ins at a friend's place--and while being drunk with my friends was a good time for us all, we've had plenty of fun in other ways. And the actual act of drinking was a terrible, miserable, nearly unbearable experience (because I can't stand the taste of alcohol, no matter what it is or what has been done to it).
