Thank you for your suggestion, but alas, apart from the fact I do not drink beer, I do not wish to complete the bum look by adding the smell of cheap alcohol.

Yeah, no shit. Thats why we came to you. Wasn't expecting the judgement though.
Val's adamant that we find a new one now. That'll be a challenge.
Welcome to feeling a lot like a lot of gay and trans people do when having to deal with the professional/government world. It sucks.

There's a lot of alternatives to shampooing out there to keep hair clean and healthy and I've seen beer listed as one of them
I've never tried any of them but that's more because I have too much to try experimenting on confidently
any volunteers?

Yeah, keep it trim around your mouth, pay special attention to the bit under your lower lip, "the soul patch"
Once mine gets long enough it starts to get in the way of eating.

So, unrelated, but my cat had, like, these 5 of 6 centimeters of some kind of thread sticking out of his ass. Like some kind of weed or something.
So I took a paper towel, and gently started pulling the thing out of his asshole.
15 more centimeters of the thing came out.
I'm not sure what it was, I'm not sure what prompted my cat to eat it, but I can say one thing :
that was fucking disgusting.

The Thing : No discernible head, extremely thin... Looks more like some kind of herb-type plant to me.

Still, that one big chunk right there.

Yeah my dogs eat grass and it sometimes hangs out of their asshole so I have to put on gloves and yank it out.

Yeah, one of my cats once ate a length of string left over from gardening. I found this out when I discovered him trying to pull it out of his arse with his teeth, which would be a fine achievement if he'd been able to pull it off. Alas, I had to intervene. Indignity ensued on his part.
As for the beer, I used to work all day at the supermarket on a Saturday as a young man, and return home in the later afternoon. I'd get into the shower with two bottles of beer, drink all of one, half of the other, then use the remains to rinse my hair, then rinse that with water. Then I'd put on a bathrobe, sit down for a meal with the family, have another few beers, get dressed. Girlfriend would arrive someone in this process. We'd go out, have more drinks, dance the night away, then we'd go to her dad's boat and fuck, fall asleep, wake up, fuck, have breakfast. And then do whatever we wanted, because in those days in was against the law for big supermarkets to open on a Sunday. Jesus I miss being 19-20.
Anyway all this is by way of assuring you that beer(lager) works fairly well.

Shadow once swallowed a bit of a stick. A little sliver.
It got all the way through until the very end and got stuck. I had to take her to the vet to get it removed.
