I've had it. As soon as I get the parts together, I'm mounting a flamethrower on the back of my car.

Didn't know you lived in South Africa. Hope things improve for you there.

Check your work email.

So, I've been working late recently and started to use the gym at work to decompress.

I'd forgotten how great it feels to just kick my own ass in the gym, or even just focusing on doing an exercise with perfect form. Its a totally different kind of mental effort than my desk job.

I'm in pain, and I feel great!

I don't, actually. I'm just sick to fucking death of being tailgated in any conceivable situation.

There's at least one day every week where I get home and have to scream, literally, to vent the frustration of my commute. Which wouldn't be so bad except for all the dipshits on the road. :argh:

Driving to work would cut 1/3 to 1/2 off my travel time.

However even with the lost time in taking public transport, my extended life expectancy due to reduced stress and remaining a free man because I haven't punched an idiot in the goddamn throat are winning arguments.

I consider myself lucky if a week goes by and nobody tries to hit me with their car when I'm out walking.

I'm glad I don't really deal with rush hour traffic, since my classes start late enough. I get to and from school in 15-20 minutes instead of 50-70, each way.

If I get a job downtown, I'll probably car pool with my cousin to the nearest LRT station though. It would actually take less time, IIRC, but parking is an issue. It actually costs more to park by the station than it does for me to park just north of the downtown core at university, and I'm less likely to get a spot at the station.

No tolls and I have a free basement carpark at work. Train costs run to about $35pw and I have a 40-60m trip each way.

But not having to remain hypervigilant and get crazy about people driving like fuckheads? Worth so much.

I'm watching Heartbreak Ridge. This is a pretty awesome movie, mainly due to Clint Eastwood being Clint Eastwood.

Yeah, it's hilarious. The training stuff more so then the invasion.

... I'm not up to anything to do with an invasion. I just saw him win an ambush against orders.

I like the lieutenant guy.

That's cool. This thing's fifteen years old. The statute of limitations on spoilers has long since passed.

This invasion sequence is pretty neat. I can't speak for any realism issues, but it does make good film.

Just ordered an Android Tablet.

I'm sick of carrying around my 8-lb laptop when traveling, and decided to go for something a bit leaner. Even though I could have gone with an iPad, they just don't support SD cards and I'd like to be able to upload pictures I take without having to go to a normal computer. (I also didn't feel like spending $400 for one.)

Today someone in Africa is saying "I'm sick of carrying fifteen litres of dirty water from the town well to our home a kilometre and a half up a hill. Let's order modern infrastructure!"

Normally I hate that kind of FWP rant but jesus Zod, don't you ever complain about modern conveniences again.

Fifteen? Didn't that movie come out in the mid-eighties?
