the first word is in the sense of knee-jerk rather than ultra-right

essentially nitram and his ilk are anticonservative rather than liberal- they are perfectly okay with abrogations of liberal values and ideals if it's a supposed liberal doing them, or even a centrist democrat

so their politics are those of reaction rather than action
