Google, for reasons that defy understanding, decided they needed to make a phone operating system. Instead of thinking it through, they just did it, and now most of the logical problems that come with their moronic decisions are coming to bite them in the ass. And the moronic decisions aren't even necessarily (or primarily) the "Google doesn't understand intellectual property unless they own it" issues.

Well, you got three choices, or at least three major choices, when it comes to smartphones: Apple iPhone, Google Android and Microsoft Windows Phone.

Apple is apparently marketed at smug yuppie fuckheads.

Next of course, we all know Microsoft is "OMG teh EVULZ MICRO$ITH LOLOLOL!!!!11!"

So that kinda leaves Google. They generally seem to have less baggage for the nerd crowd, I guess. That and nerds buying into the "Do No Evil" thing.

My choice was pretty clear, that's for darn sure.

Only one of them (at the time) worked with my work email and supported the calendar.

After that, well, what can I say, platform lock-in works.

I love my phone because it's like a PC in my hand. I like the customizations, expandable storage, cool features, being able to see what processes are using x amount of memory and x amount of battery, setting data limits for the mobile entwork, etc. I was so close to getting the Nokia Lumia, but I liked the HTC Vivid more.

I only really use my phone for three things, listening to music, having a map available anywhere I go and checking Facebook, so . . . fuck Android.

I just get whatever the zero dollar phone is. I dont care what os it has, just as long as it dials anx texts.

i had an ipod and was not impressed with ios

and when i bought a new phone a droid was $200 cheaper

so i've just had a way better experience with android than ios but oh well
