Yeah I actually think AotC is the worst out of all the prequels. TPM's plot isn't that good but AotC's literally contradicts itself when Yoda turns up with the clone army - the clone army which we were lead to believe were mixed up in a plot to destabilise the Republic, was based on a genetic template of the dude who was trying to murderise the chief opponent to the 'militarise the Republic bill', and when Obi-wan investigates he is told by the kaminoans that a Jedi Master ordered the army's creation which Obi-wan and the rest of the council knew to be FLAT OUT BULLSHIT
but apparently no everyone's cool with leading clones into battle
I mean that's way worse than the whole taxation thing not even getting mentioned really in TPM.

Neo-stalinist hasn't posted in years. He went by Sean Mulligan. Meanwhile, a guy named Cycloneman doesn't actually strut his leftist credentials on SDN except in the odd thread about Communism, but over on SomethingAwful, he's a bit of a laughingstock for being a homeschooled, self-proclaimed asexual 15/16-year-old put in college because he's so brilliant, who starts threads about how you shouldn't use the word "homophobia" because linguistic prescriptivisim. He's also a left-communist/anarchist type, but that's honestly the single least funny thing about him.
Also, mad props to adr.

I only use that if someone compares the quality of the prequels to the OT. Oh, there's shit dialogue in the PT? Look at the interactions between Han and Leia. They have chemistry, but the dialogue is atrocious. It's not as bad as some of the shit in AotC and RotS (LOL IT'S BECAUSE I'M SO IN LOVE WITH YOU!) but it's still cringeworthy.
I think the most ridiculous defense of the PT's terrible dialogue comes from Wong, where he asks readers if they have heard young people try to swoon someone. Yeah, it's bad, but guess what? I'm not watching a movie to get realistic dialogue. That shit doesn't work on film. I'm not supposed to laugh and roll my eyes when two lovers talk to one another unless the purpose is to be comedic. It obviously isn't.

I think this is where superior acting/direction can lift a performance beyond what the script says it should be. Terrible lines can be redeemed when you have a guy like Harrison Ford deliver them.
I'm not sure I agree that the ESB love dialogues had a cringeworthy aspect to them, but one thing I would agree on is how the original script's lines for Han just before he gets put on ice sucked. The best thing Harrison Ford ever did was adlib in 'I know' as his final lines.

That whole 'lol just look at young people trying to swoon someone' doesn't even make sense. It's basically a tacit admission that the lines suck, but like we shouldn't care because young love often sucks?

The original B.A. Kustra, at your service. I decided to play on the original username. Once we get the ability to freely change it I guess I'll change it back, with special usernames for holidays and shit.

Well, it doesn't really work even in comedy. You've still got to edit the natural dialogue so that you don't end up with something like Family Guy where
they'll stutter for >10 seconds the whole thing is terrible.

I think there's actually quite a few who claim to hold socialist sympathies, though they probably don't post in N&P much, seeing as it's a shithole full of Hairy People Called Asparagus (the hair is in their neck beards), then a few neoliberals like Starglider.
But yeah, I sure am sad Turkey is making a new constitution that makes it less of military state so they eventually can enter the EU - who are known for hating human rights and loving religions oppression, unlike the USA who reserve the right to
fuck anyone up anytime they please and install religious dictators in place of democracies.

who wants to post in N&P when you could probably write a script for 95% of the posters?

A lot of them are Amerisocialists, who are more like social democrats in practical terms. I bet not a one of them is opposed to profit :hmmph:.
The sheer hard-on people in the HPCA crowd have for military coups overthrowing elected governments is downright hilarious when you compare their fears of government control over anything.
lol

A second republic headed by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Islamist colleagues of the AK Party began that day. The military safely under their control, AKP ideologues can now pursue their ambitions to create an Islamic order.
what an astute analysis

There's no option to do so- the username appears as solid text that can't be edited, as far as I can tell.

ff7 was pretty boss
god i wish i could post vg music
de do do do do do do do
de do do do do do do do
doesn't quite come out right
maybe i should hack in embedding of midis to this forum
so yeah the first time i saw ff7, i loaded up someone else's save and it was in the sunken gelinka thingy. i left it and it was underwater
but i didn't realize that and thought the world of ff7 was actually so dark and lame
i didn't go back to that game for a long time. i wanted ff8 for christmas one year though and my dad was like "fuck no that's expensive ass shit" and got me ff7 instead.
(reminds me of one time i wanted phantasy star 4 adn he got me phantasy star 3 since they didn't have it. but ps3 is underrated if you ask me. it's not as great as ps4, i mean like what is, but it's pretty good anyway. my biggest beef with it is the characters walk too slowly)
anyway i put in ff7 and found the world was kinda dark but it was pretty good anyway and uematsu is a god.
after a few hours i finally left midgar and was expecting that terrible dark world i saw before
and to my surprise.... bright green! i love bright greens. they make me happy. and then the overworld theme was pretty brilliantly done and you could wander and stuff.
good game. not the greatest game ever mind you, but a good one nonetheless
btw why teh fuck am i posting here? big work project is launching like right now and it still needs a lil work.

i keep expecting them to finally release versus 13 and what do we get? 13-2, a sequel to the worst FF game to date

oh another thing
so in the mako reactor the first time, it plays the BOMBING MISSION song for a while unchanging
but then you get more inside and it switches to the track MAKO REACTOR and fights let us listen to FIGHTING
(and yes i have the full soundtracks to these games. i love that stuff)
well anyway i win my first battle of ff7 and it goes do do do do do do do do dooooo.... and then some weird ass shit as the experience points happen
coming from ff1, i was expecting Do do do do do do do do do, do do do do do doooo so i was kinda surprised by this
i actually remember wondering if the victory music there was just some special case like BOMBING MISSION was a few minutes before
alas no :-(
oh well at least the screens loaded fast enough where it wasn't playing for like ever before it gives control back
final fantasy 9 on the other hand... ugh
my only regret there is the old man actually bought me 9 for a christmas one year and paid full price for it and i bitched him out for it. i was like 'this shitty game aint worth $40 take it back' and left it under the tree for a week
i eventually did play it but i was still a total asshole about that. the geezer was just trying to be nice :-(

ff7 is a pretty good game
i think the only outright bad ffs are 2j and 14
13 is well-designed but just uses those ends for stupid purposes
honestly 8 is probably the least-appreciated of the ffs which is too bad considering all the stuff they put in there
