someone on TEO pointed out that it does have an extra bit in the hips

still that art is like someone failing at matte painting 101

What's funny is the painting is better than 100% of btech art

I've never handled any

but the general consensus was they're ugly but mostly serviceable

although a lot of the ones that have to resemble human characters are awkwardly designed because they wanted to keep a basic humanoid form

which means a bunch put big chunks of the vehicle mode in bad places

The most hilariously bad one (not listed there but still) is the Anakin/Darth Vader/ Stardestroyer/ Republic ship quad changer that can't stand up straight

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-new ... os-173189/

because most of the ship modes are on his back at all times

A lot of them do that and it's pretty bad

I'd check around places like here and see if you like anything

thanks for the input. I've been thinking of collecting a few SW toys again for nostalgia's sake, to actually play with or keep on display rather than collect to sell, but i'm not sure what the good ones are.

I think you did a review a while back of a transforming vulture droid that you said you liked, yes?

Yeah that one is pretty cool. Nice and basic and really big for its price.

The only problem it has is that you're balancing the walker mode on little wing tips so you have to fiddle with it to get it to stand well.

I love how the Venator bridge just folds under the ISD and sits there. I don't remember that from the movies.

Please excuse my inexperience on the matter, but why do the VF-1 parts' surface look so rough ?

I sell these replacement parts through a rapid prototyping maker called Shapeways and that's the printing quality for Polyamide. They also offer smoothed over parts but they don't let you combine that with getting things dyed in a color.

http://www.shapeways.com/materials/whit ... g_flexible

You can sand, paint, and use superglue on Polyamide so people who want better quality can color matching can take the extra step but I also wanted to offer some "out of the box" ease of installation.

Here's some more info

So far it's worked out quite well and gives me the funds to have my hobby basically pay for itself :science:
