I do not feel qualified in giving dating advices, sorry.

As a comedy option, though, you can ask her how she prepare "gratin dauphinois". If she says she put cheese on top, I recommend burning her at the stake.

I've got a 760-some odd mile road trip planned for December. I'm heading up to Michigan. It should be fun!

Lansing. My girlfriend is moving there for a new job and she wants me to visit when I can.

760miles, that's more than 1200 kilometers.

Wouldn't air-travel be cheaper for such a distance ?

Nope. It costs about $400 to arrive by planel at a time convenient for her, while it costs maybe $200 round trip in gas in a car that gets nearly 400 miles a tank. That leaves me spending money and the experience of going on a road trip with my camera. Plus, I have some things I need to bring with me that cannot be taken on an airplane. :D

Are you driving with anyone to take turns with? The most I've ever done in a day is about 520 and that wipes me out every time.

Nope. It's just me and my music.

Well be safe then. If you can't switch off with anyone make sure to stop every few hours and get out of the car at least.

If you're going by 75-275-96, I might be able to meet up with you, depending. If you're going by 127, not so much. Also, I can recommend a few places to stop either way.

That's the route I'll be taking. I-75 to US-23 to I-96 W.

That's good. There are some really good places to eat in Ann Arbor, though parking is a little pricey, so even if we don't hang out for a few minutes before you get to the final leg of the journey, I can still recommend some cool places.

I like how the pain of a shaving cut is inversely proportional to how bad it is

One spot still hurts but as far as I can tell the skin wasn't even really broken. Meanwhile I didn't even feel the one that is outright dripping blood :L

We'll have to do it when I venture home in early January.

mmmhmm

so yeah the north country cw changed their lineup again last week. they moved the king of queens to the afternoon and put king of the hill in its place at 6:00

then they moved that 70's show to midnight and put on the Cleveland show instead

and finally they picked up the series community and put it at 11:00

so the king of queens is a pretty decent show but king of the hill is great, so that's a cool change. i'm even loving king of the hill more this time than last time I watched it, this show is funny and smart.

that 70's show is watchable... but the Cleveland show, from what I've seen of it (about two and a half episodes), fucking sucks.

and i'm really enjoying community too. I caught the first I think three episodes when it was new on nbc, but couldn't keep up after that, I think it moved time slots or something, and now I don't even get nbc.

but I've been staying up late and watching it this last week and it's been pretty good

That motherfucker said he'd introduce us.
I believe his exact words were, "She said she'd be back when Gregorian chants hit the Top 40". So, still a chance.
If I hire Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin to produce, I can make that happen.

To the STUDIO!

Really? I know it was a hit, but I never really "got" it. Even being from the same state and intimately familiar with much of what they're parodying.

King of the Hill is one of those shows where as a teenager I thought it was alright and as an adult I love it. I still don't quite get why.

Maybe I should go back and watch a rerun. I was only 17 when it premiered.

Probably because your mind matured and you likely picked up on the adult humor.

it has good characters. all of them, and there's a decent mix. for example episode #2's protagonist was peggy hill - it was a story about her struggle and her growth. there's episodes about dale and bill and nancy and so on, with each of them being able to carry them and contribute to others. it doesn't always have to focus on hank. and hank too isn't your usual sitcom dad - he isn't an idiot! and of course bobby is interesting too, he doesn't follow any stereotypes and that's ok

the plots too are fairly normal yet engaging, you've got everyday stuff being talked about and it is funny and relevant and smart. who doesn't love talk about homeowner's insurance (and hank's reaction!)? or sex ed? or work? all good stuff.

overall it is just a lot of strong parts coming together to form a strong show
