What's the deal with "receipt in the bag or with you?" Who even cares? And besides, if you put it in the bag and I wanted it in my hand... I'll just take it out of the bag! I'm far more annoyed at being asked the question over and over again than I would be by they getting it wrong.

But I have a solution: someone should commission a study to find people's preference in general, and then automatically use it.

I don't think stuff like "idiot" and "moron" are proper medical terms or really associated with medical conditions in most people's mind's anymore though. Their useage in the language has evolved to the point where they've basically lost their "real" meanings and just mean stupid. "Retard" is different because the association with medical conditions in the living language is stronger.
