I feel sad about Setzer, not because I knew him, in fact I barely remember him but because a guy couldn't get help when he needed it and shot himself. And that guys like Hav always go "hurr hurr selfish prick".
Western society is amazingly bad with mental health issues.

Broomstick is the worst when it comes to pointing out how selfish the act is.

Yup. BTW having a sibling kill themselves does not make you an expert, any more then me being a radop makes me an expert on radio broadcasting.

Yeah, Hav berated me when I tried to off myself 2 or 3 years ago, because that's what depressed people need.

The laugh with broomstick is that she's so self-centred that she regularly responds to shit like that in a wat that would drive her into hysterics if the roles were reversed
Just imagine how shit your life would be if impressing nerds was a big part of feeling good about yourself

So blah blah blah, Raynor made another post, and I decided to idly look through his post history. He has not posted anywhere except in that thread for two months. It's the only thing keeping him there. This is all he has. He's teetering over an abyss, it seems. Time to start kicking and shoving!

Just ignore him. I simply do not have the energy and time to address all of the complaints against TPM. I don't know how he does.

A little secret: he doesn't. He just calls people RLM fanboys and repeats himself and spews bizarre nonsense and distorts prior arguments into silliness. That's why I, personally, loathe the man, if adult he can be considered.

It's doubly amusing because elfdart has been a knee-jerk tpm/lucas defender for like 2 years
but jimbo is just a whole new level

I can't work out what the shit Jimbo is saying.
But I find the whole debate incomprehensible.

'2 years'?
uh he's been that since he came to the board

ok so maybe i didn't notice
but his screeching reposts every time anyone says 'george lucas isn't that great' are not a new thing
then again elfdart barely posts anymore either
mindboggling
gando hes saying if you think tpm has a crap story because it lacks various dramatic requirements, they don't really matter after all and they're all the same anyway
he hasn't actually really made direct arguments for some time because he's becoming less and less coherent

I miss when Elfdart posted about how the only ways you could play Dungeons and Dragons were "pen-and-paper roguelike" and "railroaded visual novel"
at least those were marginally more entertaining

i love how raynor snipped my post right before i illustrated the point, then bitched about the setup
it went:
"a bad decision at a major point can be bad writing. that's why you establish the character ahead of time so it's not an asspull. tarkin had this too blah blah blah"
and he did
"a bad decision at a major point can be bad writing"
"well the final battle was a major point"
ugh

If it's one thing various D&D inspired webcomics has taught me, it is that the only way to play Dungeons and Dragons is to make up whatever shit you want as you go along.

are you really sorry
as someone who has experienced some of this, i can't disagree but a lot of points feel more complex than presented here
then again i'm not sure i feel the sincerity of a guy from cracked.com

Article blew my mind because I had assumed cracked was written exclusively by teenagers, not Gen Xers.

The point about monetary value with entertainment is completely irrelevant and has nothing to do with the protests.

also dumb as hell, i'm not going to pretend piracy is zero value but movies have much more competition for leisure time and discretionary income than ever before
