Depends on whether this person is for serious and wants to legitimately answer questions about what it's like or not.
Worst case is it's a troll and that'll just end up terrible.

Seems too much effort for troll. Feels like someone wants to express their feelings with ponies.
Co-opting an existing character with a decent fanon following is an uphill battle way of doing that, so props for trying. If THAT'S supposed to be a metaphor for the struggle for trans accecptance, I can get behind it.

What if Applejack's parents aren't dead, but are actually in prison?

That would add absolutely nothing to the show, so...

It would add to the framework of a judicial system
Fuck you're stubborn

"Main character's parents in jail" doesn't seem like the sort of thing that would fit in a show like this. In theory the (implied) death of her parents is something that the target audience could relate to and they could get a positive moral message in an episode about that, but I don't think the same could be said about convicted felons. Well, aside from young girls probably being able to relate to that but that's just a thought which makes me sad.

So we've got a comic strip with Granny rebuilt as a cyborg just a scroll away and you're not getting the alt-reality angle on this

Oh, I thought you were talking about the show itself. If it's some alt reality fan thing then I don't really care. Sorry about that.
