So I just watched the Umbara arc of Star Wars: The Clone Wars again today, and it's definitely my favorite arc of the show. In fact it might just be my favorite arc of any cartoon series ever. The pitch-black atmosphere of Umbara provides the perfect visual metaphor for Rex's doubts about the mission, and the murkiness of the Clone Wars in general.

Black bears don't like highways either. They're full of noisy things that are bigger than they.

Look, Aaron, the whole point was that Choc's either hopelessly paranoid for owning a gun for self defense or the country/state he lives in has something truely, deeply wrong with it.
Either/or.

It's why I keep arms: in case America starts leaking across the border.

Are you sure you're not French? You seem to make a habit of farting in people's general direction. Sorry if any French posters get offended, but hey you know the stereotype is there.

Do you understand that this kind of attitude is why it's impossible to have any kind of discussion on gun rights? The sides are so polarized that it actually makes the rest of US politics look downright civil.

Ryan, you really are a Fox News caricature of a liberal, aren't you?

Well lets see, he's explained his reasoning and I don't see paranoia in there, I'm not qualified to judge such a thing anyways. And unless you happen to have a PHD in psychiatry neither are you. Second, violent crime has been on the decline in the US for decades.
This is simply a case of a man exercising his legal rights. You may not agree with that right or his decision but that's your problem.
Now, you've managed quite well to demonstrate why it's impossible to discuss or compromise on gun rights in our countries. Your right and damn anyone who wants to exercise their legal rights.

1. There is nothing inherently wrong with owning a gun, or even many guns.
2. There is everything wrong with owning them for "self-defense", "home defense", etc. unless there is something dreadfully wrong where you live.
3. That's all I said, and it's all I meant, goddammit.
I know I've taken extremist positions on gun ownership before, but please do not put words in my mouth.

Okay I said a few moderately unrelated things but that's all I started out with and then it ballooned into this whole thing on general gun rights which I had no intention of getting into.

Fair enough.
This shit is like a red blanket to a bull for me anyways. Especially when people start bringing out all the classic lies and misinformation.
Edit: Just so you know where I'm coming from, to be an owner in Canada is basically to be under constant assault by people who think your a crook, a murderer, a wife beater, a gun runner and a terrorist in waiting.

I actually think the laws could use an overhaul. I mean, they ban stuff by name, which is pretty silly imo. Either ban specific features or don't ban at all. (fully automatic fire/explosives/etc)
Sorta like the laws on knives. I mean, a knife is a knife is a knife. A switchblade's folding function is a safety feature. What's it going to do if somebody misuses it? Would it cut you more if it were legal?

Thank you. Most of us aren't but the C4GC has controlled the narrative for a long time and those seem to be the tactics.
I just want to enjoy my hobby and be left alone. Unfortunately I've had to become politically active to defend it, and I fucking hate politics.
I agree and there may be changes coming thanks to the CPC, but I'm not sure that making my hobby easier is worth all the other crap they pull.
