They've really turned Rainbow Dash around recently. In season 2 she was unbearable, but I think they're getting it right

So, I had this great idea. What if Equestria made contact with humans from Earth, and in the process of diplomatic and cultural exchange the ponies were introduced to the concept of profanity.

But when profanity starts being used in Equestria it interacts with the magic there to become literal curse words like in that one episode of South Park where they said 'shit' a hundred and sixty-two times.

And, like, Rainbow Dash thinks the entire thing is hilarious and tells Applejack to get the sand out of her vagina, but then when she goes out into the streets she's greeted by hateful jeers because the advent of curse words has spontaneously turned ponies into homophobes.

It's puff puff pass bruh, not puff puff puff pass.

I love how Twilight is still weirded out by having a big throne/being treated differently/etc., it softens the irritating pro-monarchism thing this show has going for it

oh wow, that's the best appearance of Derpy ever. RD, Fluttershy and Bulk Biceps all get to say 'yay', and then she flies past and says nothing. Hilarious.

(this show has gotten really good with the recurring characters)

it's funny how Prince Blueblood is apparently important enough to sit with the foreign dignitaries, just one row below the princesses. Also, did Celestia have to sit on her own for the previous Equestria Games? Since she was the only princess for 1000 years (though actually there may have been some minor ones along the way, like Cadance and Twilight... hmm, sounds like good fodder for a fanfic...)

So, I'm probably not the first person to have something they wrote in a fanfic retroactively made canon by the source material.

Season 4 is definitely the strongest so far. That was amazing. I know it's not going to, but if the series ended now I would be completely satisfied.

Can't wait to see how they can top it in Season 5.
