Yo 'Soup:

I know you like P.K. Dick. You should read "The Mare In The High Castle" over on Fimfic.

Best thing is: it's already a finished work, the author is simply releasing it bit by bit.

in leiu of doing anything productive this afternoon, i watched the rest of s4 that i hadn't seen from the flim flam brothers 2nd episode onwards.

it was good. Well okay. Nothing there I felt was bad but nothing that really struck the same kind of chord with me that Scootaloo's flight to the finish episode did.

And the finale seemed incredibly violent for MLP with the magic fight, in places seemed like somthing out of Justice League with people being magic-punched through mountains.

What's the betting next season its business as usual just with Twilight operating out of her new crystal tree?

Okay, so I had a great idea. What if Applejack started learning about science on Twilight Sparkle's urging and turned out to be a genius who quickly mastered and revolutionized every field of pony endeavor? And, like, story will begin with Applejack concluding her presentation at a prestigious conference by saying "And that's why the Theory of Evolution ain't nothin but a buncha hooey," which wins her a standing ovation.

But then trouble ensues once Applejack stumbles onto the truth about the heliocentric universe, putting her integrity and devotion to the truth on a collision course with Celestia's rule.

Oh, and the whole thing is punctuated by a torrid affair between Applejack and a disillusioned Twilight Sparkle.

I will call it "Brilliant Scientist Applejack"

Almost enough to make me want to go back to church.

Actually I wonder if I could convince some Catholic Church to sing this unwittingly. It sounds right up their alley.

So this is like four months late, but I just found out they released a second soundtrack album. With "Find A Way (Extended)" on it. And while I loved what we heard in the episode itself, the full version is SO. AWESOME. :flagg:

Really? From the season three finale? That was the one song in the episode I didn't life and found totally forgettable.

Oh God I'm glad I don't read Fanfic.

Like there's this one that got posted on SV's rec thread, and the premise sounded mildly interesting. It had the usual fan art cover thing, and it looked moderately cool with the Mane 6 having nifty chainmail looking armor. And Apple Bloom wearing a shirt and trousers for some reason but whatever.

But then somebody posted later in the thread about a couple plot details:
A user on the Sufficient Velocity Forums wrote:I was annoyed by how often the author had Twilight use rape when she became a villain.
Also, the author's notes tend to get a bit annoying. For example, right in the middle of the story, right after it describes how Twilight had used magic to make Applebloom an adult, the author stops the story right there to give a note that "If Applebloom were human she would have big breasts."
As well, I don't like the concept of a 'Master of Harmony', I find it kind of misses the point of the Elements of Harmony.
The same user on the Sufficient Velocity Forums wrote:Adult!Applebloom getting shipped with an adult OC.

Just to be clear, she's still mentally ten.
And I was like...what, I don't even...huh? :psypop:

It's worse if you do read fanfic. Not long ago this one FIMfiction author I follow who normally writes cute, funny short stories about the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Diamond Tiara becoming friends and/or developing crushes on each other decided to up and write a foalcon story about Pinkie Pie molesting Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon for their birthday.

Normally I just shrug that sort of shit off and close the page, but this time it was by someone I actually liked. :(
